Questa funzionalit\u00e0 proposta consente di disattivare immediatamente l'accesso a determinate funzionalit\u00e0 del kernel in esecuzione. Si prevede che il killswitch sar\u00e0 utile per il blocco temporaneo delle vulnerabilit\u00e0 fino all'installazione di un aggiornamento del kernel con la correzione.      <\/p>\n<p>La gestione del killswitch avviene tramite il file \u00ab\/sys\/kernel\/security\/killswitch\/control\u00bb, che consente di configurare l'intercettazione delle chiamate alle funzioni del kernel in base ai loro nomi. Ad esempio, per bloccare la vulnerabilit\u00e0 Copy Fail, \u00e8 sufficiente scrivere nel file di controllo il comando \u00abengage af_alg_sendmsg -1\u00bb per attivare l'intercettazione della chiamata alla funzione af_alg_sendmsg e restituire, invece della sua esecuzione, il codice di errore \u00ab-1\u00bb.    <\/p>\n<p>Possono essere utilizzati qualsiasi carattere supportato dal sottosistema kprobes come nomi. Molte delle recenti vulnerabilit\u00e0 gravi trovate nel kernel sono presenti in sottosistemi utilizzati da un numero relativamente ridotto di utenti (ad esempio, AF_ALG, ksmbd, nf_tables, vsock, ax25). Per la maggior parte degli utenti, l'inconveniente di una funzionalit\u00e0 disattivata non \u00e8 paragonabile al rischio di utilizzare un kernel con una vulnerabilit\u00e0 nota e non corretta fino al rilascio della patch.
