Un appassionato ha portato per l'uso su Linux l'applicazione 3D Movie Maker, il cui codice \u00e8 stato rilasciato da Microsoft nel 2022 sotto licenza MIT. Il porting \u00e8 distribuito con il nome 3DMMEx e mantiene nel complesso l'atmosfera classica dell'applicazione, aggiungendo piccoli miglioramenti come l'ottimizzazione dell'uso del mouse, nuove combinazioni di tasti e l'importazione di audio di alta qualit\u00e0. Il legame con l'API di Windows in 3DMMEx \u00e8 stato sostituito dall'uso della libreria SDL, e gli inserti in assembly sono stati riscritti in C++. \u00c8 stata aggiunta la compatibilit\u00e0 con architetture a 64 bit x86_64 e ARM64, oltre ai compilatori Visual Studio 2022, Clang e GCC. <\/p>\n

Il programma 3D Movie Maker consente ai bambini di creare film, posizionando personaggi e oggetti tridimensionali in ambienti predefiniti, oltre ad aggiungere effetti sonori, musica e dialoghi.
