Il progetto MATE continua a sviluppare il codice di base di GNOME 2.32 mantenendo il concetto classico di ambiente desktop. Il ramo 1.29 \u00e8 presentato come sperimentale e viene utilizzato per lo sviluppo e il test delle funzionalit\u00e0 della futura versione stabile MATE 1.30. <\/p>\n<p>Dalla primavera del 2024, lo sviluppo di MATE era stagnante, ma ora Victor Kareh di Red Hat si \u00e8 unito al progetto per fornire supporto attivo. Tra le novit\u00e0 di MATE 1.29:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Nelle impostazioni di MateRROutput \u00e8 stata aggiunta la propriet\u00e0 hotplug_mode_update, che utilizza l'estensione RandR per supportare il cambio dinamico della risoluzione degli output. In pratica, questa modifica consente di adattare l'ambiente alla dimensione della finestra quando viene eseguito in sistemi di virtualizzazione.\n<li class=\"l\"> Il meccanismo di generazione delle miniature in background \u00e8 stato liberato dall'uso di chiamate specifiche per X11 quando si opera in ambienti basati su Wayland.
