Sebbene il progetto ReactOS non si affretti a spodestare Windows dal suo piedistallo come sistema operativo desktop principale, stanno avvenendo cambiamenti tangibili. Recentemente sono stati accettati altri due importanti aggiornamenti nel ramo principale. Il primo riguarda le immagini BootCD e LiveCD separate, ora unite in un'unica immagine (PR #7313<\/a>). Il secondo \u00e8 un nuovo stack di archiviazione ATA, consapevole del Plug and Play, per dispositivi ATA e AHCI, con compatibilit\u00e0 a livello NT6+.<\/p>\n

Per adesso, l'immagine LiveCD separata esiste ancora, ma l'arrivo dell'immagine universale di ReactOS significa che testare e installare ReactOS \u00e8 diventato pi\u00f9 semplice, e l'interfaccia di installazione testuale, probabilmente, scomparir\u00e0 presto grazie al nuovo installer completamente grafico in modalit\u00e0 Live dell'immagine unificata (youtube<\/a>).<\/p>\n

L'arrivo del nuovo stack di archiviazione ATA comporter\u00e0 una compatibilit\u00e0 molto migliore con l'hardware reale, inclusa la possibilit\u00e0 di installare il sistema e avviarsi da un numero maggiore di dispositivi, incluso SCSI (PR #8932<\/a>), rispetto al vecchio driver UniATA.<\/p>\n

Insieme, queste due modifiche dovrebbero avvicinare il processo di installazione e utilizzo di ReactOS a quello di Windows e molti forki di Linux. Se avete riscontrato problemi con ReactOS su hardware reale, ora \u00e8 il momento ideale per riprovare e fornire agli sviluppatori un feedback dettagliato su eventuali problemi rimanenti.<\/p>\n
