Ci\u00f2 significa che il stack di calcolo AMD per AI\/ML e HPC verr\u00e0 aggiornato all'interno degli aggiornamenti stabili regolari di Ubuntu, senza la necessit\u00e0 di attendere il rilascio successivo della distribuzione. L'annuncio \u00e8 stato pubblicato il 3 giugno 2026 nel blog di Ubuntu.<\/p>\n<p>ROCm \u00e8 il stack software open-source di AMD per l'accelerazione delle computazioni su GPU, APU e CPU, utilizzato per compiti di machine learning, inferenza locale e calcolo ad alte prestazioni. In Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, ROCm \u00e8 gi\u00e0 disponibile dai repository ufficiali: l'intero set di librerie si installa con il comando sudo apt install rocm, mentre il pacchetto per lo sviluppo si installa con sudo apt install rocm-dev. Dopo l'installazione, aggiornamenti e patch di sicurezza arriveranno tramite il consueto apt upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>La prima versione inclusa in Ubuntu 26.04 LTS \u00e8 stata <strong>ROCm 7.1.0<\/strong>. Canonical spiega che l'inclusione di un ampio set di nuovi pacchetti negli archivi di Ubuntu ha richiesto tempo, e 7.1.0 era attuale al momento dell'inizio dell'imballaggio. Nel frattempo, la versione upstream ha gi\u00e0 fatto progressi: secondo AMD, la serie <strong>ROCm 7.2<\/strong> ha iniziato a essere rilasciata a gennaio 2026, e la versione <strong>7.2.4<\/strong> \u00e8 stata pubblicata il 29 maggio 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Nel prossimo futuro, Canonical sta lavorando all'imballaggio <strong>ROCm 7.2<\/strong> e all'ampliamento della gamma di attrezzature testate. L'azienda sottolinea che non vuole saltare subito su nuove branche <strong>7.13+<\/strong>, poich\u00e9 inizialmente \u00e8 necessario perfezionare l'aggiornamento ROCm \"in loco\" e assicurarsi che la transizione non comprometta le applicazioni gi\u00e0 installate. Secondo Canonical, in queste branche \u00e8 prevista una grande ristrutturazione delle librerie, quindi non \u00e8 ancora deciso quanto in l\u00e0 si possano portare gli aggiornamenti all'interno della gi\u00e0 rilasciata Ubuntu 26.04 LTS senza rischi per gli utenti.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><noindex><\/p>\n<p>Per gli utenti di GPU AMD, questa \u00e8 una modifica significativa: ROCm su Ubuntu non sar\u00e0 pi\u00f9 un'installazione manuale separata tramite script AMD, ma diventer\u00e0 parte integrante del sistema. Le applicazioni potranno richiedere le librerie ROCm necessarie come dipendenze, i contenitori e i pacchetti snap\/deb potranno fare affidamento sui pacchetti di sistema e le correzioni di prestazioni e sicurezza verranno fornite tramite l'infrastruttura standard di aggiornamenti di Ubuntu.
