L'organizzazione KDE e.V., insieme alle aziende Kubuntu Focus e Techpaladin Software, ha presentato un\u2019iniziativa per garantire il supporto LTS della versione KDE Plasma 6.6, che prevede la creazione di correzioni per almeno tre anni. <\/p>\n

Lo scorso anno, il progetto KDE ha interrotto il supporto delle versioni LTS e ha delegato la loro gestione agli sviluppatori delle distribuzioni che desiderano fornire versioni precedenti di KDE Plasma. La decisione \u00e8 stata presa a causa dell'elevato carico di lavoro necessario per risolvere i problemi legati all'uso di stack software specifici nelle distribuzioni o alla disallineamento dello stato dei pacchetti con l\u2019attuale base di codice KDE. Di fatto, solo la distribuzione Kubuntu ha utilizzato la versione LTS, mentre Debian e openSUSE l\u2019hanno ignorata.
