Questo metodo consente di superare i meccanismi di crittografia della memoria (AMD SME\/SEV), compromettere l'isolamento delle macchine virtuali e riscrivere il microcodice del processore. Per manovrare il controller di memoria \u00e8 necessaria l'esecuzione di codice a livello kernel, il che riduce il rischio della tecnica d'attacco presentata.      <\/p>\n<p>La modalit\u00e0 \u00abswizzle\u00bb modifica la logica di indirizzamento della memoria per escludere i conflitti che si verificano durante l'accesso sequenziale, derivanti dalla lettura da righe diverse all'interno dello stesso banco di memoria. Per evitare tali conflitti, nella modalit\u00e0 \u00abswizzle\u00bb, il controller applica un'operazione XOR a una parte dei bit dell'indirizzo per separare i blocchi di dati sequenziali in banchi di memoria diversi. L'attacco si riduce a manipolazioni della modalit\u00e0 \u00abswizzle\u00bb su un sistema in esecuzione per ridistribuire dinamicamente gli indirizzi fisici.      <\/p>\n<p>Il prototipo dell'attacco \u00e8 stato dimostrato su processori AMD della famiglia 16h, utilizzati nelle console PS4 e Xbox One, nei quali i registri di configurazione dell'indirizzamento del controller di memoria erano documentati e mancava un meccanismo per bloccarli dopo l'avvio del sistema. Nei processori AMD della famiglia 17h e pi\u00f9 recenti (a partire da Zen), AMD ha implementato un meccanismo di blocco dell'accesso ai registri di configurazione del controller di memoria, oltre a introdurre una protezione contro la sostituzione della copia del microcodice, caricata in memoria durante il passaggio del processore a modalit\u00e0 sleep (C6).<br \/>\n<br \/>Fonte: <a
