Dopo quattro anni e mezzo dall'ultima versione, Patrick Volkerding ha annunciato l'inizio dellalpha testing della distribuzione Slackware 16.0. Il progetto \u00e8 in sviluppo dal 1993 ed \u00e8 la pi\u00f9 antica distribuzione attualmente esistente.
