\nIn CoW sono implementate astrazioni per la gestione delle finestre, IPC, comandi e funzionalit\u00e0 per il posizionamento in stack, la decodifica e la composizione delle finestre. Questa separazione ha permesso di concentrarsi sulle funzionalit\u00e0 di gestione delle finestre, senza essere distratti dalle complessit\u00e0 del funzionamento del protocollo Wayland. <\/p>\n
Sopra il gestore di finestre vengono avviati il pannello cowbar, il menu applicazioni cow-appmenu, il navigatore per desktop virtuali cowpager, il launcher cowbuttons e l'interfaccia per visualizzare l'elenco delle finestre cowiconman. Al posto del pannello integrato \u00e8 possibile utilizzare il pannello Waybar. La versione CoW 0.4 \u00e8 nota per l'aggiunta della possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzare contenitori di finestre di alto livello per creare layout arbitrari delle finestre sullo schermo (una finestra di alto livello pu\u00f2 essere suddivisa in colonne e righe, la cui dimensione pu\u00f2 variare indipendentemente l'una dall'altra).<\/p>\n
