Nel 2018, Unity ha utilizzato pi\u00f9 volte la demo Megacity per mostrare le potenzialit\u00e0 del suo motore di gioco. Questa scena cyberpunk, con centinaia di migliaia di oggetti altamente dettagliati, dimostra che anche compiti cos\u00ec complessi possono essere calcolati in tempo reale. In soli due mesi, il team che ha sviluppato lo strumento ECS (Entity Component System) per il rendering in streaming di un numero enorme di elementi della scena ha creato Megacity con l'aiuto di due artisti del dipartimento FPS Sample. L'obiettivo \u00e8 mostrare i risultati di Unity nello sviluppo di ECS Burst Compiler, utilizzando un ambiente futuristico con auto volanti, una quantit\u00e0 incredibile di dettagli e una miriade di fonti sonore uniche.<\/p>\n

Ad esempio, Megacity contiene 4,5 milioni di elementi Mesh Renderer, 5000 veicoli dinamici e 200.000 oggetti edilizi unici. I veicoli si muovono lungo traiettorie curve, senza mai collidere (anche se nel video alcuni di essi compiono improvvisi scatti), e ci sono 100.000 fonti audio uniche, comprese insegne al neon, ventilatori di condizionamento dell'aria e automobili che producono suoni unici, creando un paesaggio sonoro ricco e realistico.<\/p>\n
