Una centrale solare da 120 MW contribuir\u00e0 a sostituire la centrale a carbone, la quale \u00e8 prevista per essere dismessa entro il 2025.<\/p>\n

Secondo fonti di rete, la societ\u00e0 americana Idaho Power ha firmato un contratto di 20 anni per l'acquisto di energia da una centrale solare da 120 MW. La costruzione della centrale \u00e8 realizzata dalla Jackpot Holdings. La caratteristica principale del contratto \u00e8 che il prezzo per 1 kWh \u00e8 di 2,2 centesimi, un valore incredibilmente basso per gli Stati Uniti.  <\/p>\n

\u00c8 importante notare che il prezzo dell'energia annunciato non riflette completamente il costo dei pannelli solari utilizzati. Infatti, durante la costruzione della centrale solare, la Jackpot Holdings beneficia di sussidi governativi, permettendo cos\u00ec una significativa riduzione dei costi. \u00c8 interessante notare che gi\u00e0 nel 2017 i rappresentanti del Ministero dell'energia degli Stati Uniti avevano dichiarato che le centrali solari nel paese riuscivano, in media, a ottenere un costo per kilowattora di 6 centesimi.    <\/p>\n

Un'altra caratteristica che ha giovato a Idaho Power \u00e8 la presenza di linee elettriche attive, che verranno utilizzate per fornire energia ai clienti. Attualmente, queste linee vengono impiegate per il trasporto di elettricit\u00e0 da una miniera di carbone, la quale potrebbe essere chiusa nei prossimi anni. Inoltre, i rappresentanti di Idaho Power affermano che entro il 2045 l'azienda abbandoner\u00e0 completamente l'uso del gas naturale e del carbone, passando a fonti energetiche rinnovabili.<\/p>\n
