Una centrale solare con una potenza di 120 MW aiuter\u00e0 a sostituire una centrale elettrica a carbone, che si prevede di dismettere entro il 2025.<\/p>\n

Secondo fonti di rete, la societ\u00e0 americana Idaho Power ha stipulato un contratto della durata di 20 anni, in base al quale l'azienda acquister\u00e0 energia da un impianto solare con una potenza di 120 MW. La costruzione della centrale \u00e8 affidata alla Jackpot Holdings. Il principale aspetto distintivo del contratto \u00e8 che il prezzo per 1 kWh \u00e8 fissato a 2,2 centesimi, un valore record per gli Stati Uniti.  <\/p>\n

Va notato che il prezzo dell'energia annunciato non riflette pienamente il costo dei pannelli solari utilizzati. Infatti, durante la costruzione della centrale solare, la Jackpot Holdings utilizza sovvenzioni statali, il che ha permesso di ottenere una significativa riduzione dei prezzi. \u00c8 interessante notare che gi\u00e0 nel 2017 i rappresentanti del Dipartimento dell'Energia degli Stati Uniti hanno dichiarato che le centrali solari nel paese riescono in media a raggiungere un costo di 6 centesimi per kWh.    <\/p>\n

Un'altra caratteristica che ha avvantaggiato Idaho Power \u00e8 la presenza di linee di trasmissione elettrica gi\u00e0 esistenti che saranno utilizzate per la consegna dell'energia ai clienti. Attualmente, queste linee vengono utilizzate per il trasporto di elettricit\u00e0 da una miniera di carbone, il cui utilizzo potrebbe essere interrotto gi\u00e0 tra qualche anno. Inoltre, i rappresentanti di Idaho Power affermano che entro il 2045 l'azienda abbandoner\u00e0 completamente l'uso di gas naturale e carbone, passando a fonti di energia pulita.<\/p>\n
