Costituito a fine marzo, il Consiglio consultivo esterno per le tecnologie avanzate (ATEAC), incaricato di esaminare le questioni etiche nel campo dell'intelligenza artificiale, \u00e8 durato solo alcuni giorni.<\/p>\n

La causa \u00e8 stata una petizione che chiedeva la rimozione di un membro del consiglio. Il presidente dell'organizzazione Heritage Foundation, Kay Coles James, ha pi\u00f9 volte espresso commenti negativi sulle minoranze sessuali, suscitando notevole malcontento tra i suoi subordinati. La petizione \u00e8 stata firmata da centinaia di dipendenti Google. Il malcontento ha continuato a crescere, portando alla decisione di sciogliere il consiglio di etica sull'IA. In un comunicato ufficiale, Google ha affermato che attualmente l'ATEAC non pu\u00f2 svolgere le proprie funzioni secondo il piano precedentemente delineato, e pertanto l'attivit\u00e0 del consiglio sar\u00e0 interrotta. L'azienda continuer\u00e0 a farsi carico delle decisioni adottate nel settore dell'IA, mentre le modalit\u00e0 di contatto con il pubblico per discutere questioni importanti dovranno ancora essere definite.       <\/p>\n

Ricordiamo che il consiglio etico sull'IA avrebbe dovuto affrontare le varie questioni e prendere decisioni relative agli sviluppi di Google nel campo dell'intelligenza artificiale. Nonostante lo scioglimento del consiglio, Google continuer\u00e0 a lavorare per rendere il campo dell'intelligenza artificiale pi\u00f9 trasparente e accessibile. Non \u00e8 escluso che in futuro l'azienda possa cercare di organizzare una nuova commissione, incaricata di esaminare questioni relative all'etica dell'IA, all'uso delle tecnologie di intelligenza artificiale per scopi militari, e altro ancora.<\/p>\n
