Non \u00e8 stata ancora presa una decisione sulla scelta della nuova piattaforma, si sa solo che Mozilla non svilupper\u00e0 un proprio sistema, ma utilizzer\u00e0 una soluzione popolare gi\u00e0 pronta per le chat testuali. La scelta finale della nuova piattaforma sar\u00e0 fatta dopo aver discusso con la comunit\u00e0. La connessione ai canali di comunicazione richieder\u00e0 autenticazione e consenso con <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/en-US\/about\/governance\/policies\/participation\/\">le regole<\/a><\/noindex> della comunit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p>Tra i motivi dell'abbandono di IRC si annoverano il superamento morale e tecnico del protocollo, che nelle realt\u00e0 attuali non \u00e8 cos\u00ec comodo come ci si aspetterebbe, \u00e8 spesso bloccato dai firewall ed \u00e8 una barriera significativa per i nuovi partecipanti che desiderano unirsi alle discussioni.
