Il sviluppatore e fan di Xbox con il nome Voxel9 ha recentemente condiviso<\/a><\/noindex> un video in cui ha mostrato l'avvio dell'emulatore XQEMU (che emula la console originale Xbox) su Nintendo Switch. Voxel9 ha anche dimostrato che il sistema riesce a eseguire alcuni giochi, incluso Halo: Combat Evolved.<\/p>\n

E sebbene ci siano attualmente problemi come una bassa frequenza dei fotogrammi, l'emulazione funziona. L'intero processo \u00e8 stato implementato utilizzando XQEMU. Inoltre, lo sviluppatore ha mostrato Jet Set Radio Future in esecuzione (un gioco del 2002, che al momento non \u00e8 incluso nel programma di retrocompatibilit\u00e0 su Xbox One). In questo caso, Jet Set Radio Future soffre di notevoli rallentamenti: lo sviluppatore ha dovuto persino aumentare la frequenza dei fotogrammi di quattro volte per dimostrare come funzioner\u00e0 in modalit\u00e0 normale.<\/p>\n

Al momento \u00e8 difficile dire come replicare qualcosa di simile su altri esemplari di Nintendo Switch, poich\u00e9 lo sviluppatore non ha fornito dettagli tecnici e non ha presentato istruzioni. Si sa solo che inizialmente su Switch era installato il sistema operativo Linux<\/a><\/noindex>, e successivamente \u00e8 stato avviato l'emulatore, come si pu\u00f2 vedere nel video qui sotto. Inoltre, \u00e8 stato utilizzato un controller PS4 per il controllo e non il Joy-Con, poich\u00e9 il controller originale non era rilevato dal sistema.<\/p>\n

Va notato che su questa console portatile \u00e8 gi\u00e0 stato avviato RetroArch con il supporto per NES, SNES, Sega Genesis e altri emulatori di vecchie console, Windows 10<\/a><\/noindex> e Android. E sebbene spesso questi sistemi non funzionassero molto bene, \u00e8 interessante il fatto che sia comunque possibile.<\/p>\n
