Tuttavia, solo il 39% delle aziende ha tentato di implementare qualcosa di simile nella pratica.<\/p>\n<p>Una delle ragioni di questa situazione \u00e8 che il lavoro efficace con i dati e l'ottimizzazione dell'uso delle capacit\u00e0 per i compiti di machine learning non \u00e8 facile. In IDC <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.netapp.com\/us\/media\/ar-idc-pmem-new-storage-tier.pdf\">sottolineano<\/a><\/noindex>, una nuova tecnologia basata sulla memoria non volatile (Persistent Memory, PMEM) potrebbe risolvere la situazione.<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" name=\"habracut\"><\/a><\/noindex><\/p>\n<p>Questa tecnologia \u00e8 stata proposta da NetApp e Intel, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.netapp.com\/celebrating-major-milestone-intel-netapp-max-data\">unendo<\/a><\/noindex> NetApp Memory Accelerated (MAX) Data e Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory, per ottenere un prodotto per lo storage locale dei dati basato su memoria non volatile.<\/p>\n<h2>Come funziona<\/h2>\n<p>\nMAX Data \u00e8 una tecnologia server che migliora le prestazioni delle applicazioni utilizzando PMEM o DRAM, senza richiedere una ristrutturazione dell'architettura software.<\/p>\n<p>Essa implementa i principi di storage multistrato automatizzato, distribuendo i dati attraverso livelli e archiviazione in base alla frequenza di utilizzo: per i dati \"freddi\" viene impiegato un archivio pi\u00f9 economico, mentre i dati frequentemente utilizzati si trovano \"a portata di mano\" nella Persistent Memory, che minimizza la latenza durante l'elaborazione di tali dati.<\/p>\n<p>La versione 1.1 utilizza la memoria DRAM e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/NVDIMM\">NVDIMM<\/a><\/noindex>. Entrambe le implementazioni presentano i loro svantaggi: una relativa perdita di efficienza e l'alto costo della memoria, rispetto a Optane DCPMM. Un diagramma che fornisce una valutazione comparativa della latenza \u00e8 presentato <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.storagereview.com\/files\/NetApp_MAX_Data_Solution_Brief.pdf\">qui<\/a><\/noindex> (pag. 4).<\/p>\n<p>Tecnologia <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/blocksandfiles.com\/2018\/12\/17\/netapps-max-data-use-of-storage-class-memory\/\">supporta<\/a><\/noindex> e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/POSIX\">POSIX<\/a><\/noindex> e il lavoro con la semantica dei sistemi di file o a blocchi. La protezione e il recupero dei dati a livello di storage sono implementati tramite MAX Snap e MAX Recovery. Queste tecnologie utilizzano snapshot, lo strumento SnapMirror e altri meccanismi di protezione ONTAP.<\/p>\n<p>Schematizzando, l'implementazione appare come segue:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Cosa offriranno i nuovi archivi per i sistemi di IA e ML\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/510161426f2317e51dd38cf03b2821f8.jpeg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In questo schema non \u00e8 ancora presente PMEM, ma gli sviluppatori promettono di aggiungere il supporto per questo tipo di memoria entro la fine dell'anno. Per il momento, Max Data funziona con DRAM e DIMM.<\/p>\n<h2>Il potenziale della soluzione<\/h2>\n<p>\nIn IDC <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.netapp.com\/us\/media\/ar-idc-pmem-new-storage-tier.pdf\">affermano<\/a><\/noindex>, che nei prossimi anni ci saranno pi\u00f9 sviluppi come MAX Data, poich\u00e9 i volumi di dati aziendali continuano a crescere e le aziende non hanno la capacit\u00e0 di gestirli in modo efficace. La tecnologia <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.crn.com\/news\/storage\/netapp-ties-max-data-to-intel-optane-sd-makes-server-memory-part-of-cloud-infrastructure\">pu\u00f2<\/a><\/noindex> sar\u00e0 utile in un ambiente cloud su larga scala e per lavorare su compiti intensivi in termini di risorse come l'addestramento delle reti neurali. Trover\u00e0 applicazione sulle piattaforme di trading, nei sistemi di sicurezza informatica e in qualsiasi altro prodotto software che richieda accesso rapido e continuo a grandi volumi di informazioni.<\/p>\n<p>C'\u00e8 anche una certa probabilit\u00e0 che la tecnologia non riesca a decollare subito sul mercato. Come abbiamo notato in precedenza, solo un terzo delle aziende in tutto il mondo utilizza sistemi di intelligenza artificiale in un modo o nell'altro. Da questo punto di vista, l'apparizione di MAX Data potrebbe essere considerata prematura e molti potrebbero concentrare la loro attenzione su infrastrutture pi\u00f9 accessibili che consentono di
