Presentato<\/a><\/noindex> il rilascio del progetto KWin-lowlatency 5.15.5<\/a><\/noindex>, nell'ambito del quale \u00e8 stata preparata una versione del gestore di composizione per KDE Plasma 5.15, arricchita con patch per migliorare la reattivit\u00e0 dell'interfaccia e risolvere alcuni problemi legati alla velocit\u00e0 di risposta alle azioni dell'utente, come il rallentamento dell'input. Sviluppi del progetto sono distribuite<\/a><\/noindex> \u00e8 sotto licenza GPLv2.
\nPer Arch Linux \u00e8 disponibile un PKGBUILD pronto in AUR. Per Gentoo si sta preparando un ebuild con l'opzione per compilare KWin con patch lowlatency.<\/p>\n

Il nuovo rilascio si distingue per il supporto dei sistemi con schede grafiche NVIDIA. Il codice DRM VBlank \u00e8 stato sostituito con l'uso di glXWaitVideoSync per fornire protezione contro il tearing senza influire negativamente sulla reattivit\u00e0. La protezione dal tearing originariamente presente in KWin \u00e8 realizzata utilizzando un timer e pu\u00f2 causare ritardi significativi (fino a 50 ms) nella visualizzazione e, di conseguenza, nel ritardo nella reazione all'input.<\/p>\n

Sono state aggiunte ulteriori impostazioni (Impostazioni di sistema > Display e monitor > Compositore) che consentono di trovare un equilibrio ottimale tra reattivit\u00e0 e funzionalit\u00e0.
