La sostanza del metodo consiste nel ridurre l'operazione di forzatura completa della collisione in SHA-1 a <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%9A%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BB%D0%B8%D0%B7%D0%B8%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F_%D0%B0%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BA%D0%B0#%D0%9A%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BB%D0%B8%D0%B7%D0%B8%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%BD%D0%B0%D1%8F_%D0%B0%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BA%D0%B0_%D1%81_%D0%B7%D0%B0%D0%B4%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%BC_%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%84%D0%B8%D0%BA%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%BC\">un attacco di collisione con prefisso specificato<\/a><\/noindex>, in cui si verifica una collisione in presenza di determinati prefissi, indipendentemente dagli altri dati nel set. In altre parole, \u00e8 possibile calcolare due prefissi predefiniti e se uno viene collegato a un documento, e l'altro a un secondo &#8212; gli hash SHA-1 risultanti per questi file saranno identici.<\/p>\n<p>Questo tipo di attacco richiede ancora enormi calcoli, e la selezione dei prefissi rimane pi\u00f9 complessa rispetto alla normale ricerca di collisioni, ma l'efficacia pratica del risultato \u00e8 significativamente pi\u00f9 alta. Se fino ad ora il metodo pi\u00f9 veloce per la ricerca di prefissi di collisione in SHA-1 richiedeva circa 277,1 operazioni, il nuovo metodo riduce il numero di calcoli a un intervallo compreso tra 266,9 e 269,4. A questo livello di calcoli, il costo stimato dell'attacco \u00e8 inferiore a centomila dollari, un importo abbordabile per i servizi segreti e le grandi aziende. A titolo di confronto, per la ricerca di una normale collisione sono necessarie circa 264,7 operazioni.<\/p>\n<p>In <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=46091\">precedente<\/a><\/noindex> <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/shattered.it\/\">dimostrazioni<\/a><\/noindex>  Google delle capacit\u00e0 di generazione di diversi file PDF con lo stesso hash SHA-1 <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=46102\">\u00e8 stata utilizzata<\/a><\/noindex> un trucco che combina due documenti in un solo file, cambiando il livello visibile e spostando il marker di selezione del livello nell'area in cui si verifica la collisione. Con costi di risorse simili (Google ha speso un anno in calcoli su un cluster di 110 GPU per trovare la prima collisione SHA-1), il nuovo metodo consente di ottenere corrispondenze SHA-1 per due set di dati arbitrari. Da un punto di vista pratico, \u00e8 possibile preparare certificati TLS in cui sono menzionati diversi domini ma con hash SHA-1 identici. Questa possibilit\u00e0 consente a un'autorit\u00e0 di certificazione disonesta di creare un certificato per una firma digitale che pu\u00f2 essere utilizzata per autorizzare certificati falsi per domini arbitrari. Il problema pu\u00f2 anche essere sfruttato per compromettere protocolli che si basano sull'assenza di collisioni, come TLS, SSH e IPsec.<\/p>\n<p>La strategia proposta per la ricerca dei prefissi per le collisioni prevede di suddividere i calcoli in due fasi. Nella prima fase si esegue la ricerca di blocchi al limite della collisione, integrando variabili casuali nelle catene in un insieme target di differenze prestabilito. Nella seconda fase, a livello di singoli blocchi, le catene di differenze ottenute vengono confrontate con le coppie di stati che portano a collisioni, utilizzando metodi tradizionali di attacco per la ricerca delle collisioni. <\/p>\n<p>Nonostante la possibilit\u00e0 teorica di attacco a SHA-1 sia stata dimostrata gi\u00e0 nel 2005, e che nella pratica la prima collisione sia stata <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=46091\">trovata<\/a><\/noindex> nel 2017, SHA-1 \u00e8 ancora in uso e incluso in alcuni standard e tecnologie (TLS 1.2, Git, ecc.). L'obiettivo principale di questo lavoro era fornire un ulteriore argomento convincente per un'immediata cessazione dell'uso di SHA-1, specialmente nei certificati e nelle firme digitali.<\/p>\n<p>In aggiunta, si pu\u00f2 notare <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/eprint.iacr.org\/2019\/474\">pubblicazione<\/a><\/noindex> <noindex>risultati<\/noindex> della crittoanalisi degli algoritmi di cifratura <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Simon_(cipher)\">SIMON-32\/64<\/a><\/noindex>, sviluppati dalla NSA degli Stati Uniti e approvati come standard nel 2018 <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iso.org\/ru\/standard\/70388.html\">ISO\/IEC 29167-21:2018<\/a><\/noindex>.<br \/>\nI ricercatori sono riusciti a sviluppare un metodo di recupero della chiave privata basato su due coppie note di testo in chiaro e testo cifrato. Con risorse computazionali limitate, il tempo necessario per il recupero della chiave varia da alcune ore a alcuni giorni. Il coefficiente teorico di successo dell'attacco \u00e8 stimato allo 0,25, mentre quello pratico per il prototipo attuale \u00e8 pari allo 0,025.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\"
