Si tratta di uno storage completamente open source che utilizza tecnologie consolidate: DRBD, LVM, ZFS. Linstor combina semplicit\u00e0 e un'architettura ben progettata, il che consente di raggiungere stabilit\u00e0 e risultati piuttosto impressionanti.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Oggi vorrei parlare di Linstor in modo pi\u00f9 dettagliato e mostrare quanto sia semplice integrarlo con OpenNebula utilizzando linstor_un \u2014 il nuovo driver che ho sviluppato appositamente per questo scopo.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Linstor, insieme a OpenNebula, consente di costruire un cloud veloce e affidabile, facilmente implementabile sulla propria infrastruttura.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" name=\"habracut\"><\/a><\/noindex><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"arhitektura-linstor\">Architettura di Linstor<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Linstor non \u00e8 n\u00e9 un file system n\u00e9 uno storage block da solo; Linstor \u00e8 un orchestratore che fornisce uno strato di astrazione per automatizzare la creazione di volumi in LVM o ZFS e replicarli utilizzando DRBD9.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h5 id=\"lomaem-stereotipy\">Sfidiamo gli stereotipi<\/h5>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ma aspetta, DRBD? \u2014 Perch\u00e9 automatizzarlo e come pu\u00f2 funzionare?<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ricordiamo il passato, quando DRBD8 era molto popolare. Il suo utilizzo standard implicava la creazione di un grande dispositivo di blocco e la suddivisione in molte piccole parti utilizzare lo stesso LVM. Una sorta di RAID-1 con mdadm, ma con replica in rete.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Questo approccio non \u00e8 privo di difetti, e con l'arrivo di DRBD9 i principi di costruzione dello storage sono cambiati: ora per ogni macchina virtuale viene creato un dispositivo DRBD separato.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>L'approccio con dispositivi di blocco indipendenti consente di utilizzare meglio lo spazio nel cluster e offre una serie di ulteriori funzionalit\u00e0. Ad esempio, per ciascun dispositivo di questo tipo \u00e8 possibile definire il numero di repliche, la loro posizione e impostazioni individuali. Sono facili da creare\/eliminare, fare snapshot, modificare la dimensione, attivare la crittografia e molto altro. Vale la pena notare che DRBD9 supporta anche il quorum, che aiuta a evitare le situazioni di split-brain.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h5 id=\"resursy-i-bekendy\">Risorse e backend<\/h5>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Creando un nuovo dispositivo di blocco, Linstor colloca il numero necessario di repliche su nodi diversi nel cluster. Ognuna di queste repliche sar\u00e0 chiamata risorsa DRBD.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Le risorse sono di due tipi:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Risorsa dati<\/strong> \u2014 sono dispositivi DRBD ospitati su nodi in un pool LVM o ZFS.<br \/>\nAttualmente sono supportati diversi backend e il loro numero \u00e8 in costante crescita. Sono supportati LVM, ThinLVM e ZFS. Gli ultimi due consentono di creare e utilizzare snapshot.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Risorsa senza disco<\/strong> \u2014 \u00e8 un dispositivo DRBD ospitato su un nodo senza backend, ma permette di trattarlo come un normale dispositivo a blocchi, tutte le operazioni di lettura\/scrittura verranno reindirizzate alle risorse dati. L'analogo pi\u00f9 vicino alle risorse senza disco \u00e8 l'iSCSI LUN.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ogni risorsa DRBD pu\u00f2 avere fino a 8 repliche, e solo una di esse pu\u00f2 essere attiva per impostazione predefinita \u2014 <strong>Primaria<\/strong>, tutte le altre saranno <strong>Secondarie<\/strong> e il loro utilizzo sar\u00e0 impossibile finch\u00e9 c'\u00e8 almeno una Primaria, quindi si limiteranno a replicare i dati tra loro.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Montando un dispositivo DRBD nel sistema, esso diventa automaticamente <strong>Primaria<\/strong>, pertanto anche una risorsa senza disco, nella terminologia DRBD, pu\u00f2 essere Primaria.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h5 id=\"tak-zachem-nuzhen-linstor\">Allora, a cosa serve Linstor?<\/h5>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Delegando tutte le attivit\u00e0 intensive di risorse al kernel, Linstor \u00e8 fondamentalmente una normale applicazione Java che consente di automatizzare senza sforzo la creazione di risorse DRBD.<br \/>\nOgni risorsa creata sar\u00e0 un cluster DRBD indipendente, che funziona autonomamente, indipendentemente dallo stato del control-plane e delle altre risorse DRBD.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Linstor \u00e8 composto da soli due componenti:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Linstor-controller<\/strong> \u2014 Il controller principale fornisce un'API per creare e gestire le risorse. Comunica anche con i satelliti, controllando lo spazio disponibile su di essi, e invia compiti per creare ed eliminare nuove risorse. Viene eseguito in un'unica istanza e utilizza un database che pu\u00f2 essere sia interno (H2) che esterno (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Linstor-satellite<\/strong> \u2014 Viene installato su tutti i nodi di archiviazione e fornisce al controller informazioni sullo spazio disponibile e svolge le operazioni ricevute dal controller per creare ed eliminare nuovi volumi e dispositivi DRBD su di essi.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Linstor opera sui seguenti concetti chiave:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Node<\/strong> \u2014 server fisico su cui verranno create e utilizzate le risorse DRBD.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Storage Pool<\/strong> \u2014 pool LVM o ZFS creato sul nodo in cui verranno collocate le risorse DRBD. \u00c8 possibile anche il pool senza disco \u2014 un pool in cui verranno collocati solo risorse senza disco.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Definizione della risorsa<\/strong> \u2014 La definizione della risorsa \u00e8, in sostanza, un prototipo che descrive il nome e tutte le sue propriet\u00e0.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Definizione del volume<\/strong> \u2014 Definizione del volume. Ogni risorsa pu\u00f2 consistere in pi\u00f9 volumi, e ogni volume deve avere una dimensione.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Risorsa<\/strong> \u2014 Un'istanza creata di un dispositivo di blocco, ogni risorsa deve essere collocata su un nodo specifico e in un pool di storage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"ustanovka-linstor\">Installazione di Linstor<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Consiglio di utilizzare Ubuntu come sistema, poich\u00e9 esiste <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~linbit\/+archive\/ubuntu\/linbit-drbd9-stack\">un PPA pronto<\/a><\/noindex>:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">add-apt-repository ppa:linbit\/linbit-drbd9-stack\napt-get update<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Oppure Debian, dove Linstor pu\u00f2 essere installato dal repository ufficiale per Proxmox:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">wget -O- https:\/\/packages.linbit.com\/package-signing-pubkey.asc | apt-key add -\nPVERS=5 &amp;&amp; echo \"deb http:\/\/packages.linbit.com\/proxmox\/ proxmox-$PVERS drbd-9.0\" &gt; \n    \/etc\/apt\/sources.list.d\/linbit.list\napt-get update<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<h5 id=\"controller\">Controller<\/h5>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Qui \u00e8 tutto semplice:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">apt-get install linstor-controller linstor-client\nsystemctl enable linstor-controller\nsystemctl start linstor-controller<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<h5 id=\"storage-nody\">Nodi di storage<\/h5>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Attualmente nel kernel Linux viene fornito un modulo kernel in-tree <strong>DRBD8<\/strong>, sfortunatamente non ci adatta e dobbiamo installare <strong>DRBD9<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">apt-get install drbd-dkms<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Come dimostra la pratica, la maggior parte delle difficolt\u00e0 si verificano proprio perch\u00e9 il modulo DRBD8 \u00e8 caricato nel sistema, e non DRBD9. Fortunatamente, \u00e8 facile verificarlo eseguendo:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">modprobe drbd\ncat \/proc\/drbd<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Se vedi <strong>version: 9<\/strong> \u2014 significa che va tutto bene, se <strong>versione: 8<\/strong> \u2014 significa che qualcosa \u00e8 andato storto e dovete intraprendere ulteriori azioni per scoprire le cause.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ora installeremo <strong>linstor-satellite<\/strong> e <strong>drbd-utils<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">apt-get install linstor-satellite drbd-utils\nsystemctl enable linstor-satellite\nsystemctl start linstor-satellite<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"sozdanie-klastera\">Creazione del cluster<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Storage pool e nodi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Come backend utilizzeremo <strong>ThinLVM<\/strong>, poich\u00e9 \u00e8 il pi\u00f9 semplice e supporta gli snapshot.<br \/>\nInstalla <strong>lvm2<\/strong>, se non lo avete gi\u00e0 fatto, e creiamo il pool ThinLVM su tutti i nostri nodi di storage:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">sudo vgcreate drbdpool \/dev\/sdb\nsudo lvcreate -L 800G -T drbdpool\/thinpool<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Tutte le ulteriori operazioni possono essere eseguite direttamente sul controller:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Aggiungiamo i nostri nodi:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">linstor node create node1 127.0.0.11\nlinstor node create node2 127.0.0.12\nlinstor node create node3 127.0.0.13<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Creiamo gli storage pool:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">linstor storage-pool create lvmthin node1 data drbdpool\/thinpool\nlinstor storage-pool create lvmthin node2 data drbdpool\/thinpool\nlinstor storage-pool create lvmthin node3 data drbdpool\/thinpool<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ora verifichiamo i pool creati:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">linstor storage-pool list<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Se tutto \u00e8 stato fatto correttamente, dovremmo vedere qualcosa del tipo:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre>+-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+\n| StoragePool | Node  | Driver   | PoolName          | FreeCapacity | TotalCapacity | SupportsSnapshots |\n|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|\n| data        | node1 | LVM_THIN | drbdpool\/thinpool |       64 GiB |        64 GiB | true              |\n| data        | node2 | LVM_THIN | drbdpool\/thinpool |       64 GiB |        64 GiB | true              |\n| data        | node3 | LVM_THIN | drbdpool\/thinpool |       64 GiB |        64 GiB | true              |\n+-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+<\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Risorse DRBD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ora proviamo a creare la nostra nuova risorsa DRBD:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">linstor resource-definition create myres\nlinstor volume-definition create myres 1G\nlinstor resource create myres --auto-place 2<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Controlliamo le risorse create:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">linstor resource list <\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre>+------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+\n| Node  | Resource | StoragePool | VolumeNr | MinorNr | DeviceName    | Allocated  | InUse  |    State |\n|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|\n| node1 | myres    | data        | 0        | 1084    | \/dev\/drbd1084 | 52 KiB     | Unused | UpToDate |\n| node2 | myres    | data        | 0        | 1084    | \/dev\/drbd1084 | 52 KiB     | Unused | UpToDate |\n+------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+<\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ottimo! \u2014 vediamo che la risorsa \u00e8 stata creata sui primi due nodi, possiamo anche provare a creare una risorsa senza disco sul terzo: <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">linstor resource create --diskless node3 myres<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Sui nodi troverete sempre questo dispositivo come <code>\/dev\/drbd1084<\/code> o <code>\/dev\/drbd\/by-res\/myres\/0<\/code><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ecco come funziona Linstor, potete ottenere ulteriori informazioni da <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.linbit.com\/docs\/users-guide-9.0\/\">documentazione ufficiale<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ora parler\u00f2 di come integrarlo con OpenNebula<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"nastroyka-opennebula\">Configurazione di OpenNebula<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Non approfondir\u00f2 troppo il processo di configurazione di OpenNebula, poich\u00e9 tutti i passaggi sono descritti in dettaglio in <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.opennebula.org\/stable\/deployment\/opennebula_installation\/index.html\">documentazione ufficiale<\/a><\/noindex>, che vi consiglio di consultare; parler\u00f2 solo dell'integrazione tra OpenNebula e Linstor.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h5 id=\"linstor_un\">linstor_un<\/h5>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Per affrontare questa sfida ho scritto un driver personalizzato \u2014 <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/OpenNebula\/addon-linstor_un\">linstor_un<\/a><\/noindex>, attualmente \u00e8 disponibile come plugin e deve essere installato separatamente.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>L'intera installazione avviene sui nodi frontend di OpenNebula e non richiede ulteriori azioni sui nodi di calcolo.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Per prima cosa, dobbiamo assicurarci di avere <strong>jq<\/strong> e <strong>linstor-client<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"plaintext\">apt-get install jq linstor-client<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Team <code>linstor node list<\/code> dovrebbe restituire l'elenco dei nodi.
