La societ\u00e0 ESET ha condotto un'analisi del malware LightNeuron, utilizzato dai membri del noto gruppo di cybercriminali Turla.<\/p>\n

Il gruppo hacker Turla ha guadagnato notoriet\u00e0 nel 2008, dopo aver violato la rete del Comando Centrale delle Forze Armate degli Stati Uniti. L'obiettivo dei cybercriminali \u00e8 il furto di dati riservati di importanza strategica.<\/p>\n

Negli ultimi anni, centinaia di utenti in oltre 45 paesi sono stati vittime delle azioni del gruppo Turla, in particolare enti governativi e diplomatici, militari, organizzazioni educative e di ricerca, e altro ancora.<\/p>\n

Ma torniamo al malware LightNeuron. Questa backdoor consente di ottenere praticamente il controllo totale sulle email di server<\/a> Microsoft Exchange. Accedendo all'agente di trasporto di Microsoft Exchange, gli attaccanti possono leggere e bloccare le email, sostituire gli allegati e modificare il testo, nonch\u00e9 scrivere e inviare messaggi a nome dei membri dell'organizzazione.<\/p>\n

Attivit\u00e0 dannose sono mascherate in documenti PDF creati ad hoc e immagini JPG; la connessione con il backdoor avviene tramite l'invio di richieste e comandi attraverso questi file.<\/p>\n

Gli esperti di ESET evidenziano che la rimozione del malware LightNeuron \u00e8 un compito piuttosto complesso. Infatti, la cancellazione dei file dannosi non produce risultati e pu\u00f2 portare a malfunzionamenti di Microsoft Exchange.<\/p>\n

Ci sono motivi per ritenere che questo backdoor venga utilizzato anche per sistemi Linux. <\/p>\n
