Tuttavia, il ritmo della sua crescita recentemente <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/the-chip-slowdown-is-real-but-how-bad-will-it-be-2018-11-15\">\u00e8 diminuito<\/a><\/noindex>. Tra le cause del calo ci sono la complessit\u00e0 dei processi di progettazione dei dispositivi e la mancanza di automazione.<br \/>\n<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" name=\"habracut\"><\/a><\/noindex><br \/>\nAncora qualche anno fa, gli ingegneri di Intel <noindex>scritto<\/noindex>, affermavano che per creare un microprocessore ad alte prestazioni bisognava utilizzare da 100 a 150 strumenti software separati (<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%90%D0%B2%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%BC%D0%B0%D1%82%D0%B8%D0%B7%D0%B0%D1%86%D0%B8%D1%8F_%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%82%D0%B8%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%8F_%D1%8D%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%82%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B8\">EDA<\/a><\/noindex>). La situazione pu\u00f2 aggravarsi nel caso di dispositivi eterogenei, la cui architettura include diversi tipi di chip \u2014 ASIC, FPGA, CPU o GPU. Di conseguenza, si verificano errori nella progettazione che ritardano il rilascio dei prodotti.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>Nonostante il gran numero di strumenti ausiliari, una parte del lavoro gli ingegneri sono comunque costretti a svolgerlo manualmente. Gli autori del libro \u00ab<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Advanced-Logic-Synthesis-Andr%C3%A9-In%C3%A1cio\/dp\/3319672940\">Advanced Logic Synthesis<\/a><\/noindex>\u00bb affermano che a volte i progettisti <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2M5xX3H\">si devono<\/a><\/noindex> devono scrivere script in Skill o Python di due milioni di righe per comporre librerie con <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%9F%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B5%D0%BA%D1%82%D0%B8%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5_%D0%BD%D0%B0_%D0%BE%D1%81%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B5_%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B4%D0%B0%D1%80%D1%82%D0%BD%D1%8B%D1%85_%D1%8F%D1%87%D0%B5%D0%B5%D0%BA\">celle<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<p>Vengono anche scritti script per il parsing dei report generati dai sistemi EDA. Durante lo sviluppo di un chip con processo tecnologico a 22 nm, questi report possono occupare fino a 30 terabayte.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\nPer risolvere la situazione e cercare di standardizzare i processi di progettazione, DARPA ha preso questa decisione. Anche nell'agenzia <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.technologyreview.com\/s\/611725\/darpa-has-an-ambitious-15-billion-plan-to-reinvent-electronics\/\">ritengono<\/a><\/noindex>, si ritiene che i metodi esistenti per la creazione di chip siano obsoleti. Nell'ambito dell'iniziativa <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/theopenroadproject.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/OpenROAD_Flow_and_Notes_Nov2018-v1p0-1.pdf\">vengono sviluppati<\/a><\/noindex> (schema 1) pi\u00f9 di dieci strumenti. Successivamente, parleremo pi\u00f9 nel dettaglio di alcuni di essi: Flow Runner, RePlAce, TritonCTS, OpenSTA.<\/p>\n<p><b>Flow Runner<\/b> \u2014 \u00e8 uno strumento per la gestione delle librerie RTL e GDSII. Queste ultime rappresentano file di database, che sono lo standard industriale per lo scambio di informazioni sui circuiti integrati e le loro topologie. La soluzione si basa sulla tecnologia dei container Docker. Flow Runner pu\u00f2 essere eseguito sia in un ambiente cloud che localmente. La guida all'installazione \u00e8 disponibile nel repository ufficiale <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/The-OpenROAD-Project\/BROWN-Flow-Runner\">su GitHub<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<p><b>RePlAce<\/b> \u2014 \u00e8 una soluzione cloud basata su machine learning, responsabile del posizionamento dei componenti sul chip e dell'automazione del tracciamento. Secondo <noindex>alcuni dati<\/noindex>, gli algoritmi intelligenti aumentano l'efficienza dello strumento dal 2 al 10% rispetto ai sistemi classici. Inoltre, l'implementazione nel cloud semplifica la scalabilit\u00e0. La guida per l'installazione e la configurazione \u00e8 anche disponibile <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/abk-openroad\/RePlAce\">nel repository<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<p><b>TritonCTS<\/b> \u2014 \u00e8 un'utilit\u00e0 per ottimizzare i segnali di clock inviati al chip. Aiuta a instradare i segnali di sincronizzazione a tutte le parti del dispositivo con ritardi uniformi. Il principio di funzionamento si basa su <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/H_tree\">H-alberi<\/a><\/noindex>. Questo approccio <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ieeexplore.ieee.org\/document\/8588311\">aumenta<\/a><\/noindex> l'efficienza della distribuzione dei segnali aumenta del 30% rispetto ai metodi tradizionali. Gli sviluppatori affermano che in futuro questo valore potrebbe crescere fino al 56%.
