Nel codice del gestore di finestre Mutter, sviluppato nel ciclo di sviluppo di GNOME 3.34, sono inclusi<\/a><\/noindex> cambiamenti<\/a><\/noindex>, che automatizzano l'avvio di XWayland quando si tenta di eseguire un'applicazione basata sul protocollo X11 in un ambiente grafico basato su protocollo Wayland. La differenza rispetto al comportamento di GNOME 3.32 e versioni precedenti \u00e8 che fino ad ora il componente XWayland \u00e8 stato eseguito continuamente e richiedeva un avvio esplicito (veniva avviato all'inizializzazione della sessione GNOME), mentre ora verr\u00e0 avviato dinamicamente quando si presenter\u00e0 la necessit\u00e0 di componenti per garantire la compatibilit\u00e0 con X11. Il rilascio di GNOME 3.34 \u00e8 previsto per l'11 settembre 2019.<\/p>\n

Ricordiamo che per garantire l'esecuzione di normali applicazioni X11 in un ambiente basato su Wayland si utilizza il componente DDX XWayland<\/a><\/noindex> (Device-Dependent X), che \u00e8 in fase di sviluppo<\/a><\/noindex> nella base di codice principale di X.Org. Per organizzare il funzionamento di XWayland, ricorda Xwin e Xquartz per le piattaforme Win32 e OS X, e include componenti per l'avvio di X.Org Server sopra Wayland. La modifica apportata a Mutter permetter\u00e0 di avviare il server X solo quando necessario, il che avr\u00e0 un impatto positivo sul consumo delle risorse nei sistemi che non utilizzano applicazioni X11 in ambiente Wayland (il processo con il server X di solito occupa pi\u00f9 di cento megabyte di memoria RAM).<\/p>\n
