Insieme all'annuncio dei processori desktop Ryzen 3000 basati sull'architettura Zen 2, AMD ha svelato ufficialmente i dettagli sul X570 — il nuovo chipset per le schede madri flagship Socket AM4. La principale novit\u00e0 di questo chipset — il supporto per il bus PCI Express 4.0, tuttavia sono emerse anche alcune altre caratteristiche interessanti.<\/p>\n

\"AMD<\/p>\n

\u00c8 importante sottolineare che le nuove schede madri basate su X570, che arriveranno nei negozi a breve, sono progettate per funzionare nativamente con la bus PCI Express 4.0. Ci\u00f2 significa che tutte le porte delle nuove schede saranno in grado di operare con dispositivi compatibili in questa nuova modalit\u00e0 ad alta velocit\u00e0 senza alcuna condizione (a condizione di installare un processore Ryzen di terza generazione). Questo vale sia per le porte collegate al controller della bus PCI Express, sia per quelle gestite dal controller del chipset.<\/p>\n

Il chipset X570 stesso \u00e8 in grado di supportare fino a 16 linee PCI Express 4.0, tuttavia met\u00e0 di queste linee pu\u00f2 essere riconfigurata in porte SATA. Inoltre, nel chipset \u00e8 presente un controller SATA indipendente con quattro porte, un controller USB 3.1 Gen2 con supporto per otto porte da 10 gigabit e un controller USB 2.0 con supporto per 4 porte.<\/p>\n

Tuttavia, \u00e8 necessario comprendere che il funzionamento di un gran numero di periferiche ad alta velocit\u00e0 nei sistemi basati su X570 sar\u00e0 limitato dalla larghezza di banda della bus che collega il processore al chipset. Questa bus utilizza solo quattro linee PCI Express 4.0 nel caso di un processore Ryzen 3000 installato sulla scheda, o quattro linee PCI Express 3.0 con processori delle generazioni precedenti.<\/p>\n

Il consumo energetico del chipset X570 \u00e8 davvero di 15 W rispetto ai 6 W dei chipset della generazione precedente, tuttavia AMD menziona una versione \"semplificata\" dell'X570, in cui il consumo energetico sar\u00e0 ridotto a 11 W grazie alla rinuncia ad alcune linee PCI Express 4.0. Tuttavia, l'X570 rimane comunque un chip piuttosto caldo, cosa che \u00e8 principalmente legata all'integrazione del controller bus PCI Express ad alta velocit\u00e0 nel chip.<\/p>\n

AMD ha confermato che il chipset X570 \u00e8 stato progettato internamente, mentre il design dei chipset passati era gestito da un contractor esterno — la societ\u00e0 ASMedia.<\/p>\n

I principali produttori di schede madri presenteranno i loro prodotti basati sull'X570 nei prossimi giorni. AMD promette che la loro gamma consister\u00e0 in almeno 56 modelli.<\/p>\n
