Tuttavia, non scalano cos\u00ec bene come si sperava.<\/p>\n<p>MIT si \u00e8 occupato della questione dell'efficienza energetica e della scalabilit\u00e0 dei chip ottici. <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/news.mit.edu\/2019\/ai-chip-light-computing-faster-0605\">hanno presentato<\/a><\/noindex> una nuova architettura del fotone acceleratore, che riduce il consumo energetico del dispositivo di mille volte e funziona con decine di milioni di neuroni. I dati trasmessi sono ancora codificati attraverso segnali ottici, ma per la moltiplicazione matriciale si utilizza la rilevazione omodina bilanciata (<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.timeorigin21.narod.ru\/rus_translation\/Elements_of_quantum_optics.pdf\">p. 30<\/a><\/noindex>). Questa \u00e8 una tecnica che consente di formare un segnale elettrico sulla base di due segnali ottici.<\/p>\n<p>Per la trasmissione di impulsi luminosi con informazioni sui neuroni in ingresso e in uscita viene utilizzato un unico percorso di segnale. I dati sui pesi dei neuroni, al contrario, vengono trasmessi tramite canali separati. Tutti questi dati si \u00abdirigono\u00bb verso i nodi della rete di fotodetettori omodini, che calcolano il valore di uscita per ciascun neurone (determinano il livello del segnale). Successivamente, queste informazioni vengono inviate a un modulatore, che converte il segnale elettrico nuovamente in ottico.
