L'obiettivo principale di SVT-AV1 \u00e8 raggiungere un livello di prestazioni adatto per la ricodifica video in tempo reale e per applicazioni in servizi che offrono video on demand (VOD). Il codice \u00e8 sviluppato nell'ambito del progetto OpenVisualCloud, che sta anche sviluppando codificatori. <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/OpenVisualCloud\/SVT-HEVC\">SVT-HEVC<\/a><\/noindex> e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/OpenVisualCloud\/SVT-VP9\">SVT-VP9<\/a><\/noindex>, e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/OpenVisualCloud\/\">\u00e8 distribuito<\/a><\/noindex> sotto licenza BSD. <\/p>\n<p>Per utilizzare SVT-AV1 \u00e8 necessario un processore Intel Core di quinta generazione (CPU Intel Xeon E5-v4 o pi\u00f9 recenti). Per la codifica dei flussi AV1 a 10 bit con qualit\u00e0 4K sono richiesti 48 GB di RAM, 16 GB per 1080p, 8 GB per 720p e 4 GB per 480p. A causa della complessit\u00e0 degli algoritmi utilizzati in AV1, la codifica di questo formato richiede risorse significativamente maggiori rispetto ad altri formati, rendendo impossibile l'uso del codificatore AV1 standard per la ricodifica in tempo reale. Ad esempio, il codificatore standard del progetto AV1<br \/>\n<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=48429\">richiede<\/a><\/noindex> richiede 5721, 5869 e 658 volte pi\u00f9 calcoli rispetto ai codificatori x264 (profilo \u00abmain\u00bb), x264 (profilo \u00abhigh\u00bb) e libvpx-vp9. <\/p>\n<p>Tra le novit\u00e0 della nuova versione di SVT-AV1 c'\u00e8 l'aggiunta di una prima implementazione del decodificatore (in precedenza era supportata solo la codifica) e il supporto per il binding statico della libreria.
