Progetto EPEL<\/a><\/noindex> (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux), che mantiene un repository di pacchetti aggiuntivi per RHEL e CentOS, ha annunciato<\/a><\/noindex> sulla prontezza del repository EPEL 8 per il rilascio. Il repository \u00e8 stato formato<\/a><\/noindex> due settimane fa ed \u00e8 ora considerato pronto per l'implementazione. Gli utenti delle distribuzioni compatibili con Red Hat Enterprise Linux possono accedere a un set aggiuntivo di pacchetti da Fedora Linux, supportato dalle comunit\u00e0 di Fedora e CentOS. Le build binarie sono prodotte per le architetture x86_64, aarch64, ppc64le e s390x.
\nAttualmente, sono disponibili per il download 310 pacchetti binari (179 srpm). <\/p>\n

Tra le novit\u00e0, si segnala la creazione di un canale aggiuntivo epel8-playground, simile a Rawhide in Fedora, che offre le versioni pi\u00f9 recenti dei pacchetti attivamente aggiornati, senza garanzia della loro stabilit\u00e0 e supporto. Rispetto alle versioni precedenti, in EPEL 8 \u00e8 stata aggiunta anche la supporto per la nuova architettura s390x, per la quale ora vengono compilati pacchetti. In futuro, non \u00e8 escluso che venga aggiunto il supporto s390x anche in EPEL 7. I moduli non sono ancora supportati, ma si prevede di integrarli al momento della formazione della branch EPEL-8.1 nel repository, il che permetter\u00e0 di utilizzarli come dipendenze nella compilazione di altri pacchetti in EPEL.<\/p>\n
