Il codice dell'hypervisor si basa su un hypervisor leggero sviluppato da Intel per dispositivi embedded e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/projectacrn\/acrn-hypervisor\">distribuito<\/a><\/noindex> con licenza BSD.<\/p>\n<p>L'hypervisor \u00e8 stato scritto tenendo presente la prontezza per l'esecuzione di compiti in tempo reale e l'idoneit\u00e0 per l'uso in sistemi critici, operando su hardware con risorse limitate. Il progetto mira a occupare una nicchia tra gli hypervisor utilizzati in sistemi cloud e data center e quelli per sistemi industriali con rigorosa separazione delle risorse. Come esempio di utilizzo di ACRN, si citano i blocchi di controllo elettronici, i cruscotti e i sistemi informativi per auto, ma l'hypervisor \u00e8 anche ben adatto per dispositivi consumer IoT e altre applicazioni embedded. <\/p>\n<p>ACRN garantisce costi operativi minimi e consiste di sole 25.000 righe di codice (a titolo di confronto, gli iper-vettori utilizzati nei sistemi cloud contano circa 150.000 righe di codice). Inoltre, ACRN garantisce latenze basse (low latency) e una reattivit\u00e0 adeguata nell'interazione con l'hardware. Supporta la virtualizzazione delle risorse CPU, I\/O, della rete, e per operazioni di grafica e suono. Per l'accesso condiviso alle risorse comuni tra tutte le VM viene fornito un insieme di mediatori I\/O.<\/p>\n<p>ACRN \u00e8 un iper-vettore di tipo 1 (opera direttamente sull'hardware) e consente l'esecuzione simultanea di pi\u00f9 sistemi ospiti, dove possono essere eseguiti distribuzioni Linux, RTOS, Android e altri sistemi operativi.
