In casa Mozilla hanno completato<\/a><\/noindex> la fase di test del supporto DNS over HTTPS (DNS over HTTPS, DoH) e intendono lanciare la funzione negli Stati Uniti entro la fine di questo mese. Dopo il lancio completo, valuteranno la possibilit\u00e0 di implementare il protocollo anche per altri paesi.<\/p>\n

Questa tecnologia consente di crittografare il traffico DNS, sebbene gli utenti possano disattivare la funzione nel browser e utilizzare le normali richieste DNS. \u00c8 probabile che gli utenti dei sistemi di controllo parentale e delle reti aziendali lo facciano, poich\u00e9 in esse esiste un sistema di verifica per disattivare automaticamente il DoH.<\/p>\n

Una tecnologia simile potrebbe essere utile per proteggere dalle perdite di dati attraverso i server DNS dei provider. Pu\u00f2 anche essere utilizzata contro attacchi MITM, sostituzione del traffico DNS, aggiramento di blocchi a livello nomi di dominio<\/a> e cos\u00ec via. Infatti, lo standard attuale DNSSEC utilizza la crittografia solo per l'autenticazione del client e del server, ma non protegge contro l'intercettazione o la sostituzione dei dati.<\/p>\n

L'attivazione del DoH in about:config avviene tramite la variabile network.trr.mode, introdotta in Firefox 60. Con il valore 0, il DoH \u00e8 completamente disattivato. Il valore 1 consente di scegliere automaticamente tra DNS o DoH in base a quale funziona pi\u00f9 velocemente. Con 2 si utilizza DoH come impostazione predefinita, e DNS come opzione di riserva. Con il valore 3 \u00e8 attivato solo DNS over HTTPS. Infine, impostando il parametro 4, si attiva la modalit\u00e0 di mirror, in cui DoH e DNS funzionano parallelamente. In questo caso viene utilizzato il server DNS di CloudFlare, anche se pu\u00f2 essere modificato.<\/p>\n
