Nella prossima versione e nelle attuali versioni beta del kernel Linux 5.4 \u00e8 stata introdotta<\/a><\/noindex> supporto per il driver del file system Microsoft exFAT. Tuttavia, questo driver si basa su un codice pi\u00f9 vecchio di Samsung (numero di versione del ramo 1.2.9). Negli smartphone dell'azienda viene gi\u00e0 utilizzata una variante del driver sdFAT basata sul ramo 2.2.0. <\/p>\n

Ora \u00e8 stato pubblicato<\/a><\/noindex> Informiamo che lo sviluppatore sudcoreano Park Ju Hyung ha presentato una nuova versione del driver exFAT, basata sugli ultimi progressi dell'azienda. Le modifiche al codice non riguardano solo l'aggiornamento delle funzionalit\u00e0, ma anche la rimozione delle modifiche specifiche di Samsung. Questo ha reso il driver compatibile con tutti i kernel Linux, non solo con i firmware Android di Samsung.<\/p>\n

Il codice \u00e8 gi\u00e0 disponibile nel repository PPA per Ubuntu, mentre per altre distribuzioni pu\u00f2 essere compilato dai sorgenti. Sono supportati kernel Linux a partire dalla versione 3.4 fino alla 5.3-rc su tutte le piattaforme attuali. L'elenco include x86 (i386), x86_64 (amd64), ARM32 (AArch32) e ARM64 (AArch64). Lo sviluppatore ha gi\u00e0 proposto di aggiungere il driver nel ramo principale per sostituire la vecchia versione.<\/p>\n

Si segnala inoltre che il driver funziona pi\u00f9 velocemente rispetto alla versione di Microsoft. Pertanto, ci aspettiamo l'arrivo di un driver exFAT aggiornato, anche se al momento non ci sono dati certi sulle tempistiche per il trasferimento dello sviluppo nel ramo principale.<\/p>\n

Ricordiamo che exFAT \u00e8 una versione proprietaria del file system, apparsa per la prima volta in Windows Embedded CE 6.0. Questo sistema \u00e8 destinato a drive USB. <\/p>\n
