Gli sviluppatori di Nitrux hanno annunciato la creazione delle prime versioni funzionanti che hanno eliminato il sistema di avvio systemd. Dopo tre mesi di esperimenti interni, \u00e8 iniziato il collaudo delle versioni basate su SysVinit e OpenRC. La versione iniziale (SysVinit) \u00e8 stata segnalata come completamente funzionante, ma non \u00e8 presa in considerazione per ragioni specifiche. La seconda versione (OpenRC) attualmente non supporta l'interfaccia grafica e la connessione di rete. In futuro, si prevede di provare anche a creare versioni con s6-init, runit e busybox-init.<\/p>\n

La distribuzione Nitrux \u00e8 basata su Ubuntu e sviluppa il proprio DE Nomad, costruito su KDE (un'estensione di KDE Plasma). Per installare applicazioni aggiuntive, si utilizza il sistema di pacchetti autonomi AppImage e il centro di installazione delle applicazioni NX Software Center. La distribuzione stessa viene fornita in un unico file e aggiornata in modo atomico tramite il proprio strumento znx.
