Per lo sviluppo delle applicazioni viene utilizzato il linguaggio OCaml. Codice del progetto <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mirage\/mirage\">\u00e8 distribuito<\/a><\/noindex> \u00e8 sotto licenza ISC.<\/p>\n<p>Tutta la funzionalit\u00e0 a basso livello tipica di un sistema operativo \u00e8 implementata sotto forma di libreria, collegata all'applicazione. L'applicazione pu\u00f2 essere sviluppata su qualsiasi sistema operativo, quindi compilata in un kernel specializzato (concetto di <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/queue.acm.org\/detail.cfm?id=2566628\">unikernel<\/a><\/noindex>), che pu\u00f2 essere eseguito direttamente sopra hypervisor come Xen, KVM, BHyve e VMM (OpenBSD), su piattaforme mobili, come processo in un ambiente compatibile POSIX o in ambienti cloud come Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud e Google Compute Engine. <\/p>\n<p>L'ambiente generato non contiene nulla di superfluo e interagisce direttamente con l'hypervisor senza driver e strati di sistema, il che consente una sostanziale riduzione delle spese generali e un aumento della sicurezza. Lavorare con MirageOS si riduce a tre fasi: preparazione della configurazione definendo i pacchetti OPAM utilizzati nell'ambiente <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/opam.ocaml.org\/\">OPAM-pacchetti<\/a><\/noindex>, costruzione dell'ambiente e avvio dell'ambiente. Il runtime per garantire il funzionamento su Xen si basa su un kernel semplificato <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.xenproject.org\/wiki\/Mini-OS\">Mini-OS<\/a><\/noindex>, mentre per altri hypervisor e sistemi basati su kernel  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/solo5\/solo5\">Solo5<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Nonostante le applicazioni e le librerie siano realizzate in un linguaggio di alto livello come OCaml, gli ambienti finali mostrano prestazioni abbastanza buone e una dimensione minima (ad esempio, un server DNS occupa solo 200 KB). La gestione degli ambienti \u00e8 semplificata, poich\u00e9 nel caso di necessit\u00e0 di aggiornamento del programma o modifica della configurazione, \u00e8 sufficiente creare e avviare un nuovo ambiente. Sono supportate  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mirage\">diverse decine di librerie<\/a><\/noindex> in linguaggio OCaml per eseguire operazioni di rete (DNS, SSH, OpenFlow, HTTP, XMPP, ecc.), lavorare con archiviazione e garantire l'elaborazione parallela dei dati. <\/p>\n<p>Le principali modifiche nella nuova versione riguardano il supporto delle nuove funzionalit\u00e0 offerte nell'ambiente <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Solo5\/solo5\/releases\/tag\/v0.6.0\">Solo5 0.6.0<\/a><\/noindex> (ambiente sandbox per l'esecuzione di unikernel):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata aggiunta la possibilit\u00e0 di eseguire unikernel MirageOS in un ambiente isolato <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Solo5\/solo5\/blob\/master\/docs\/architecture.md\">spt<\/a><\/noindex> (&#171;processo tender sandboxed&#187;), fornito dagli strumenti <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Solo5\/solo5\/\">Solo5<\/a><\/noindex>. Nell'utilizzo del backend spt, il kernel di MirageOS viene avviato in processi utente Linux, ai quali si applica una minima isolazione basata su seccomp-BPF;\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata implementata la supporto <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Solo5\/solo5\/blob\/master\/docs\/architecture.md#application-manifest\">manifesto delle applicazioni<\/a><\/noindex> dal progetto Solo5, che consente di definire pi\u00f9 adattatori di rete e dispositivi di archiviazione collegati al unikernel, con isolamento basato sui backend hvt, spt e muen (l'uso per i backend genode e virtio \u00e8 attualmente limitato a un dispositivo);\n<li class=\"l\"> Rafforzata la protezione dei backend basati su Solo5 (hvt, spt), ad esempio, \u00e8 stata garantita la compilazione in
