Il resolver \u00e8 uno dei tanti file binari collegati al protocollo Winbox di RouterOS. Tuttavia, il router necessita di contattare upgrade.mikrotik.com, cloud.mikrotik.com, cloud2.mikrotik.com e download.mikrotik.com. Il router memorizza nella cache tutte queste risposte in modo errato.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"La vulnerabilit\u00e0 di RouterOS mette a rischio centinaia di migliaia di dispositivi\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/0cc8b45337fa71f2ea3a1222e4d673c2.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<br \/>\n\u00c8 chiaro che questo attacco \u00e8 utile anche se il router funge da server DNS, poich\u00e9 consente di attaccare i clienti del router.<\/p>\n<p>Inoltre, questo attacco consente di sfruttare una vulnerabilit\u00e0 pi\u00f9 grave: effettuare un downgrade o un backport della versione di RouterOS. L'attaccante ricrea la logica del server di aggiornamento, incluso il changelog, e costringe RouterOS a considerare una versione obsoleta (vulnerabile) come attuale. Qui il pericolo risiede nel fatto che durante l'\"aggiornamento\" della versione, la password dell'amministratore viene reimpostata su \"predefinita\" \u2014 un malintenzionato pu\u00f2 accedere al sistema con una password vuota!<\/p>\n<p><center><div class=\"youtube-placeholder\" data-id=\"5SW7z0eUDuA\" onclick=\"loadVideo(this)\">\r\n        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/5SW7z0eUDuA\/hqdefault.jpg\" alt=\"Guarda il video\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" style=\"width:100%;height:auto;\">\r\n        <div class=\"play-button\"><\/div>\r\n    <\/div><\/center><br \/>\nL'attacco funziona, anche se <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@jbaines\">l'autore<\/a><\/noindex> implementa ulteriori vettori, che includono anche <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/tenable-techblog\/routeros-chain-to-root-f4e0b07c0b21\">l'inserimento di un backdoor nel firmware<\/a><\/noindex>, ma questa \u00e8 gi\u00e0 una tecnica superflua e il suo utilizzo per scopi illeciti \u00e8 contro la legge.<\/p>\n<h3>Protezione<\/h3>\n<p>\nLa semplice disattivazione di Winbox consente di proteggersi da questi attacchi.
