Il nuovo driver si basa sull'API grafico Vulkan ed \u00e8 progettato principalmente per l'uso con le schede Raspberry Pi 4 e i modelli futuri (le capacit\u00e0 della GPU VideoCore IV, fornita con Raspberry Pi 3, non sono sufficienti per una piena implementazione di Vulkan).<\/p>\n<p>Lo sviluppo del nuovo driver, in collaborazione con l'organizzazione Raspberry Pi Foundation, \u00e8 condotto dalla societ\u00e0 <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.igalia.com\/\">Igalia<\/a><\/noindex>. Finora \u00e8 stato preparato solo un prototipo iniziale del driver, idoneo per la realizzazione di semplici dimostrazioni. Il primo rilascio beta, che sar\u00e0 utilizzabile per l'esecuzione di alcune applicazioni reali, \u00e8 previsto per la seconda met\u00e0 del 2020.<\/p>\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2020\/01\/hello_vulkan.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Per Raspberry Pi 4 \u00e8 stata certificata la supporto per OpenGL ES 3.1 ed \u00e8 in fase di sviluppo un nuovo driver Vulkan\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/afd11a7299c36c4595c8749912701244.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 stato inoltre annunciato il <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.khronos.org\/conformance\/adopters\/conformant-products\/opengles#submission_882\">certificazione<\/a><\/noindex> da parte dell'organizzazione Khronos del driver Mesa <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mesa3d\/mesa\/tree\/master\/src\/gallium\/drivers\/v3d\">v3d<\/a><\/noindex> (precedentemente <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/cgit.freedesktop.org\/mesa\/mesa\/commit\/?id=01ae6a918111196e9cce7a817445db0b11825f9f\">era chiamato<\/a><\/noindex> <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lists.freedesktop.org\/archives\/mesa-dev\/2017-July\/162087.html\">vc5<\/a><\/noindex>), che \u00e8 stato riconosciuto come completamente compatibile con OpenGL ES 3.1. Il driver \u00e8 stato certificato utilizzando il chip Broadcom BCM2711, impiegato nelle schede Raspberry Pi 4.
