Nell'ambito del progetto Wine-wayland<\/a><\/noindex> \u00e8 stato preparato un set di patch e un driver winewayland.drv che consente di utilizzare Wine in ambienti basati sul protocollo Wayland, senza l'uso di XWayland e componenti associati a X11. \u00c8 inclusa anche la possibilit\u00e0 di avviare giochi e applicazioni che utilizzano le API grafiche Vulkan e Direct3D 9, 10 e 11. Il supporto per Direct3D \u00e8 implementato tramite un layer DXVK<\/a><\/noindex>, che trasmette le chiamate all'API Vulkan. Il set include anche patch esync<\/a><\/noindex> (Eventfd Synchronization) per migliorare le prestazioni dei giochi multipiattaforma.<\/p>\n

\"Wine<\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n

Il funzionamento della versione di Wine per Wayland \u00e8 stato testato in ambienti Arch Linux e Manjaro con il server compositivo Weston e il driver AMDGPU con supporto per API Vulkan. \u00c8 richiesta la Mesa 19.3 o una versione pi\u00f9 recente, compilata con supporto per Wayland, Vulkan ed EGL, e la presenza delle librerie SDL e Faudio, cos\u00ec come del supporto Esync<\/a><\/noindex> o Fsync<\/a><\/noindex> nel sistema. \u00c8 supportato il passaggio alla modalit\u00e0 schermo intero con il tasto F11. In questo stadio di sviluppo, il supporto per OpenGL, controller di gioco, applicazioni GDI e cursori personalizzati \u00e8 assente. I launcher non funzionano. <\/p>\n

Per gli sviluppatori di distribuzioni, Wine-wayland pu\u00f2 risultare interessante per la sua capacit\u00e0 di fornire un ambiente puramente Wayland con supporto per l'esecuzione di applicazioni Windows, eliminando la necessit\u00e0 di installare pacchetti legati a X11. Nei sistemi basati su Wayland, il pacchetto Wine-wayland consente di ottenere prestazioni superiori e una maggiore reattivit\u00e0 nei giochi grazie all'eliminazione di strati non necessari.
