Lo strumento <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxlinks.com\/netperf\/\">include<\/a><\/noindex> ha due file eseguibili: netserver e netclient. Per eseguire il test, devono essere avviati su Macchine diverse. Di default, netperf utilizza la porta 12865, ma pu\u00f2 essere sostituita tramite il flag -p. L'utilit\u00e0 funziona con TCP e UDP utilizzando BSD Sockets, DLPI, Unix Domain Sockets e IPv6.<\/p>\n<p>Oggi netperf \u00e8 parte della suite di strumenti di benchmarking <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/flent.org\/\">Flent<\/a><\/noindex>. \u00c8 utilizzato anche da un buon numero di aziende IT, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.openshift.com\/troubleshooting-openshift-network-performance-with-a-netperf-daemonset\/\">come Red Hat<\/a><\/noindex>. Ecco come appare la descrizione del servizio netperf in uno degli esempi per valutare le prestazioni di OpenShift:<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"xml\">apiVersion: v1\nkind: Service\nmetadata:\n  labels:\n    app-name: netperf\n  name: netperf\n  namespace: your_project\nspec:\n  ports:\n  - port: 12865\n    protocol: TCP\n    targetPort: 12865\n  selector:\n    app-name: netperf\n  sessionAffinity: ClientIP\n  type: ClusterIP\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>\nNel repository ufficiale si afferma che netperf \u00e8 distribuito con una licenza speciale di Hewlett-Packard. Tuttavia, l'autore dello strumento, Rick Jones, sostiene che \u00e8 conforme alle migliori tradizioni open source. Va inoltre notato che recentemente gli aggiornamenti per netperf sono stati rilasciati con rare frequenze. Questo potrebbe essere legato alla maturit\u00e0 del prodotto.<\/p>\n<p>Netperf ha dei rivali, come ad esempio, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/iperf2\/\">iperf2<\/a><\/noindex> e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/software.es.net\/iperf\/\">iperf3<\/a><\/noindex>. Questi strumenti consentono anch'essi di testare la larghezza di banda della rete. Lo sviluppo di iperf3 \u00e8 iniziato dopo che il repository di iperf2 \u00e8 caduto in disuso. La nuova versione \u00e8 stata scritta da zero e non \u00e8 compatibile con la precedente implementazione, anche se contiene parte del suo codice. Curiosamente, dopo il rilascio di iperf3, il lavoro su iperf2 \u00e8 ripreso. Alla fine, i due strumenti <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/richardimaoka.github.io\/blog\/network-benchmark-tools\/\">possiedono<\/a><\/noindex> una funzionalit\u00e0 simile, ma allo stesso tempo diversa. Ad esempio, iperf2 \u00e8 multithreaded, mentre iperf3 \u00e8 <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/software.es.net\/iperf\/faq.html\">lavorando<\/a><\/noindex> con un solo thread.<\/p>\n<h2><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/lpereira\/hardinfo\">Hardinfo<\/a><\/noindex><\/h2>\n<p>\n\u00c8 uno strumento per raccogliere informazioni sull'hardware e sul sistema operativo. Mostra dati sul funzionamento dei dispositivi su: PCI, ISA PnP, USB, IDE, SCSI, e anche sulle porte seriali e parallele. Tuttavia, pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato anche come benchmark e strumento di monitoraggio.<\/p>\n<p>HardInfo offre diversi test. Ad esempio, CPU Blowfish valuta le prestazioni del processore utilizzando algoritmi crittografici di cifratura simmetrica a blocchi. Ci sono <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/groups.csail.mit.edu\/cag\/raw\/benchmark\/suites\/nqueens\/README.html\">CPU N-Queens<\/a><\/noindex> \u2014 un test di combinatoria. Il sistema risolve il problema scacchistico di posizionare N regine su una scacchiera di dimensione N x N. Dispone i pezzi in modo che nessuno di essi possa attaccare gli altri. Vale la pena menzionare anche FPU FFT \u2014 un test per il calcolo rapido della trasformata discreta di Fourier e FPU Raytracing \u2014 calcolo della ray tracing durante il rendering di una scena 3D.<\/p>\n<p>I risultati nella maggior parte dei test sono forniti in secondi e, di conseguenza, pi\u00f9 \u00e8 basso, meglio \u00e8. Tutti i rapporti sono mostrati nei formati HTML e txt.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Inizialmente, l'utilit\u00e0 \u00e8 stata sviluppata nell'ambito del progetto <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/BerliOS\">BerliOS<\/a><\/noindex>. Includeva una piattaforma di hosting per applicazioni open source (come <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/SourceForge.net\">SourceForge<\/a><\/noindex>) e diversi database per documentazione e profili di sviluppatori open source. BerliOS \u00e8 stato chiuso nel 2014 a causa di finanziamenti insufficienti. Oggi HardInfo si sviluppa grazie agli sforzi di appassionati <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/lpereira\/hardinfo\">in un repository separato<\/a><\/noindex> su GitHub.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\nSi segnala che nel funzionamento del sistema possono occasionalmente verificarsi bug. \u00c8 noto che si verificano periodicamente <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugs.debian.org\/cgi-bin\/bugreport.cgi?bug=853749\">errore di segmentazione<\/a><\/noindex>, problemi con <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugs.debian.org\/cgi-bin\/bugreport.cgi?bug=638951\">la visualizzazione dei dispositivi USB<\/a><\/noindex> e diversi <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugs.debian.org\/cgi-bin\/pkgreport.cgi?pkg=hardinfo;dist=unstable\">altri<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<h2><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/httpd.apache.org\/docs\/2.2\/programs\/ab.html\">ApacheBench<\/a><\/noindex><\/h2>\n<p>\nStrumento per il benchmarking dei server HTTP. ApacheBench (AB) \u00e8 stato sviluppato per testare Apache, ma pu\u00f2 funzionare su qualsiasi altro server. Per avviarla, \u00e8 necessario digitare il seguente comando:<\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"bash\">ab -n 100 -c 10 http:\/\/www.example.com\/<\/code><\/pre>\n<p>\nInvier\u00e0 cento richieste GET (con un massimo di dieci inviate contemporaneamente) al livello di test. Il sistema mostrer\u00e0 il tempo medio di elaborazione delle richieste, il volume totale di dati trasferiti, la larghezza di banda e il numero di errori.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Oggi attorno all'utilit\u00e0 si \u00e8 formata una vasta comunit\u00e0. Online appaiono regolarmente <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=W7jYCFvTmeQ\">nuove guide<\/a><\/noindex> su come configurare e utilizzare ApacheBench.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\nSi noti che AB ha un analogo \u2014 <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/apache\/jmeter\">Apache jMeter<\/a><\/noindex>, ma con molte pi\u00f9 funzionalit\u00e0. Ad esempio, consente di generare richieste da pi\u00f9 computer, gestendo il processo da uno di essi. L'applicazione implementa anche meccanismi di autorizzazione per utenti virtuali e supporta sessioni personalizzate.
