Sviluppatori di Arch Linux hanno comunicato<\/a><\/noindex>, che abbiamo modificato lo schema di imballaggio dei pacchetti dall'algoritmo. In precedenza era utilizzato l'algoritmo xz (.pkg.tar.xz). Attualmente si parla di un passaggio a zstd per 545 pacchetti. Gli altri riceveranno gradualmente il nuovo algoritmo di compressione man mano che verranno rilasciati aggiornamenti. \u00c8 importante notare che i pacchetti in formato .pkg.tar.zst sono automaticamente supportati in presenza di aggiornamenti pacman (5.2) e libarchive (3.3.3-1). Se qualcuno degli utenti non ha ancora aggiornato libarchive, la nuova versione \u00e8 disponibile in un repository separato.<\/p>\n

L'algoritmo zstd (zstandard) \u00e8 stato sviluppato nel 2015 ed \u00e8 stato presentato per la prima volta un anno dopo.
