Un singolo die all'interno di questi chip \u00e8 solitamente definito chiplet.<\/p>\n<p>L'uso dei chiplet permette di ottimizzare il processo produttivo e ridurre i costi di produzione di processori complessi; semplifica anche il compito di scalabilit\u00e0. Sebbene la tecnologia dei chiplet comporti alcune sfide, l'Open Compute Project <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/fuse.wikichip.org\/news\/3184\/ocp-makes-a-push-for-an-open-chiplet-marketplace\/\" target=\"_blank\">offre una soluzione<\/a><\/noindex>. Non solo AMD ha abbandonato i core CPU monolitici per passare a \"processori modulari\", ma anche i chip Intel Stratix 10 e Huawei Kunpeng seguono questa configurazione. A prima vista, l'architettura modulare e a chiplet offre una grande flessibilit\u00e0, ma attualmente non \u00e8 cos\u00ec \u2014 tutti i produttori impiegano i propri sistemi di interconnessione (ad esempio, per AMD si tratta di Infinity Fabric). Di conseguenza, le opzioni di configurazione del chip sono limitate all'arsenale di un singolo produttore. Anche <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opencompute.org\/wiki\/Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\">Open Compute Project<\/a><\/noindex>ha una propria visione della questione: gi\u00e0 nel 2018, il consortium ha creato un sottogruppo <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opencompute.org\/wiki\/Server\/ODSA\" target=\"_blank\">Open Domain-Specific Architecture (ODSA)<\/a><\/noindex>, impegnata a risolvere questo problema. L'approccio OCP \u00e8 pi\u00f9 ampio di quello di Intel, con l'obiettivo globale di unificare completamente il mercato dei chiplet. Questo dovrebbe semplificare al massimo la creazione di soluzioni architetturali specifiche, in grado di combinare chiplet di diversi tipi e produttori: coprocessori tensoriali, acceleratori di rete e crittografia, persino ASIC per l'estrazione di criptovalute.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/center><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Open Compute Project sta sviluppando un&#039;interfaccia unificata per chiplet\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/d50d6096c0266bef64390f9b7e3ecdc8.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Il progresso di ODSA \u00e8 notevole: se durante il primo incontro del gruppo nel 2018 c'erano solo sette aziende sviluppatrici, attualmente il numero dei partecipanti \u00e8 quasi arrivato a cento. Il lavoro procede, ma ci sono ancora molte difficolt\u00e0 da risolvere: non solo il problema dell'assenza di un'interfaccia unificata per le connessioni, ma sar\u00e0 necessario sviluppare e accettare uno standard che consenta di combinare chiplet con diverse funzionalit\u00e0, risolvere questioni di packaging e testing di soluzioni multi-chiplet, fornire strumenti di sviluppo, affrontare questioni relative alla propriet\u00e0 intellettuale, e molto, molto altro.<\/p>\n<p>Attualmente, il mercato delle soluzioni basate su chiplet di diversi produttori \u00e8 ancora in una fase embrionale.
