Secondo fonti online, la vulnerabilit\u00e0 \u00e8 stata attivamente sfruttata da malintenzionati, ma i rappresentanti di Mozilla non hanno ancora commentato questa informazione.<\/p>\n

Si sa che la vulnerabilit\u00e0 riguardava il compilatore JIT JavaScript IonMonkey per SpiderMonkey, uno dei principali componenti del kernel di Firefox, che gestisce le operazioni JavaScript. Gli esperti hanno classificato il problema come una vulnerabilit\u00e0 di confusione dei tipi di dati, in cui le informazioni registrate in memoria vengono inizialmente definite come un tipo di dato, ma successivamente, a causa di alcune manipolazioni, vengono convertite in un altro tipo. Sfruttando questa vulnerabilit\u00e0, i malintenzionati potevano eseguire codice arbitrario sulla macchina attaccata.      <\/p>\n

Secondo le informazioni disponibili, la vulnerabilit\u00e0 in questione \u00e8 stata scoperta dagli esperti dell'azienda cinese Qihoo 360. I rappresentanti dell'azienda hanno dichiarato di essere a conoscenza di diversi casi in cui la suddetta vulnerabilit\u00e0 \u00e8 stata utilizzata in pratica dai malintenzionati. Va notato che recentemente, sull'account Twitter di Qihoo 360, era stato pubblicato un messaggio riguardante una vulnerabilit\u00e0 zero-day attivamente sfruttata nel browser Internet Explorer. Tuttavia, quel messaggio \u00e8 stato successivamente rimosso.<\/p>\n

Per quanto riguarda la vulnerabilit\u00e0 in questione, \u00e8 stata risolta nelle versioni del browser Firefox 72.0.1 e Firefox ESR 68.4.1. Si raccomanda agli utenti del browser di Mozilla di aggiornare il proprio browser all'ultima versione per non diventare vittime dei malintenzionati.<\/p>\n
