Sviluppatore del browser web Waterfox ha riferito<\/a><\/noindex> sul passaggio del progetto a System1<\/a><\/noindex>, specializzata nell'attrarre pubblico sui siti dei clienti. System1 finanzier\u00e0 il lavoro futuro sul browser e aiuter\u00e0 a trasformare Waterfox da un progetto di un singolo appassionato in un prodotto sviluppato da un team di sviluppatori, che ambir\u00e0 a essere una valida alternativa ai grandi browser. L'autore originale di Waterfox continuer\u00e0 a lavorare sul progetto, ma come dipendente di System1.<\/p>\n

Ricordiamo che Waterfox<\/a><\/noindex> \u00e8 una modifica di Firefox, focalizzata sulla protezione della privacy dell'utente, sul ripristino delle funzionalit\u00e0 familiari e sull'eliminazione delle novit\u00e0 imposte, come l'integrazione con il servizio Pocket. In Waterfox \u00e8 disabilitato anche il supporto per le API Encrypted Media Extensions (DRM per il Web), le raccomandazioni pubblicitarie sulla pagina iniziale e la trasmissione della telemetria. \u00c8 possibile utilizzare plugin NPAPI e installare qualsiasi estensione, indipendentemente dalla presenza di una firma digitale.
