Nel processo di sviluppo di LibreOffice 7.0, uno dei principali cambiamenti \u00e8 stato l'utilizzo della libreria Skia di Google, insieme al supporto per il rendering Vulkan. Questa libreria viene utilizzata per il disegno dell'interfaccia utente e il rendering del testo. La funzionalit\u00e0 \u00e8 disponibile su Windows e Linux. Non ci sono attualmente notizie su macOS.<\/p>\n

Secondo Lubo\u0161 Lu\u0148\u00e1k di Collabora, il codice basato su Cairo \u00e8 eccessivamente complesso. L'uso di Skia \u00e8 pi\u00f9 semplice, anche considerando la patch necessaria affinch\u00e9 Skia utilizzi FcPattern per la selezione del carattere.<\/p>\n

Si segnala che il rendering del testo per Linux e Windows tramite Skia necessita di ulteriori sviluppi, quindi non \u00e8 chiaro se questo metodo sar\u00e0 utilizzato come predefinito in LibreOffice 7.0, che uscir\u00e0 all'inizio di agosto. Non \u00e8 escluso che rimanga un'opzione, anche se la situazione potrebbe cambiare in futuro.<\/p>\n

In generale, nella settima versione ci si aspetta un notevole miglioramento. Tra i miglioramenti ci sono il rapido trattamento di XLSX, un aumento delle prestazioni, il supporto per la scala HiDPI per Qt5 e sviluppi sull'interfaccia utente. In questo modo, il miglior pacchetto office gratuito continua a evolversi.<\/p>\n
