Nel nostro materiale di oggi discutiamo i prossimi cambiamenti: un nuovo file system, il protocollo WireGuard e gli aggiornamenti dei driver.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/habr.com\/ru\/company\/1cloud\/blog\/493058\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Linux kernel 5.6: cosa aspettarsi dalla nuova versione del kernel\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ef44ca6480f299f2d90386db99353037.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" name=\"habracut\"><\/a><\/noindex><br \/>\n<i>Foto \u2014 <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/unsplash.com\/photos\/xqeWJEHajkA\">lucas huffman<\/a><\/noindex> \u2014 Unsplash<\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Il tanto atteso protocollo VPN<\/h2>\n<p>\nDavid Miller, responsabile del sottosistema di rete di Linux, ha deciso <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/itsfoss.com\/linux-kernel-5-6\/\">attivare<\/a><\/noindex> di includere il kernel WireGuard. Questo \u00e8 un tunnel VPN sviluppato dalla societ\u00e0 di sicurezza informatica Edge Security. L'idea <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/marc.info\/?l=linux-netdev&amp;m=153306429108040&amp;w=2\">discusso<\/a><\/noindex> \u00e8 emersa gi\u00e0 due anni fa \u2014 all'epoca <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lists.openwall.net\/netdev\/2018\/08\/02\/124\">\u00e8 stata supportata<\/a><\/noindex> dallo stesso Linus Torvalds \u2014 ma l'implementazione \u00e8 stata rinviata. Il progetto era fortemente legato alle funzionalit\u00e0 crittografiche di Edge Security. Tuttavia, sei mesi fa gli autori del nuovo protocollo hanno trovato un compromesso e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lists.zx2c4.com\/pipermail\/wireguard\/2019-September\/004560.html\">sono passati<\/a><\/noindex> al Crypto API supportato dal kernel.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>S\u00ec <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/itsfoss.com\/linux-kernel-5-6\/\">opinioni<\/a><\/noindex>, il che, a lungo termine, fa s\u00ec che WireGuard possa sostituire OpenVPN. Secondo <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wireguard.com\/performance\/\">i test<\/a><\/noindex>, la larghezza di banda del nuovo protocollo \u00e8 quattro volte superiore a quella di OpenVPN: 1011 Mbit\/s contro 258 Mbit\/s. Ma qui vale la pena notare che il passaggio al Crypto API standard potrebbe ridurre le prestazioni.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\nUn'altra caratteristica di WireGuard \u00e8 che <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xda-developers.com\/wireguard-vpn-project-support-android-roms\/\">non interrompe la connessione<\/a><\/noindex>, anche se l'utente ha ricevuto un nuovo indirizzo IP, e gestisce autonomamente le questioni di instradamento. A tal fine, a ciascuna interfaccia di rete viene assegnata una chiave privata. Questa viene generata tramite <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%9F%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%BB_%D0%94%D0%B8%D1%84%D1%84%D0%B8_%E2%80%94_%D0%A5%D0%B5%D0%BB%D0%BB%D0%BC%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B0\">il protocollo Diffie-Hellman<\/a><\/noindex>. La crittografia stessa <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wireguard.com\/protocol\/\">\u00e8 costruita<\/a><\/noindex> su ChaCha20 e sull'algoritmo <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Poly1305\">Poly1305<\/a><\/noindex>. Questi sono considerati equivalenti migliorati di AES-256-CTR e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/HMAC\">HMAC<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<h2>Il nuovo file system<\/h2>\n<p>\nQuesto sistema <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=news_item&amp;px=Zonefs-Proposed-Linux-5.6\">\u00e8 diventato<\/a><\/noindex> Zonefs, presentato dagli ingegneri di Western Digital. \u00c8 progettato per lavorare con dispositivi di archiviazione zonati (<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zonedstorage.io\/\">zoned storage<\/a><\/noindex>). Si tratta di unit\u00e0 di archiviazione a blocchi, il cui spazio indirizzabile \u00e8 diviso in zone (ad esempio, NVMe SSD). Il file system consente di trattare ogni zona come un file, ovvero utilizzare API speciali al posto di <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ioctl\">ioctl<\/a><\/noindex> per accedere allo storage. Un approccio simile \u00e8 impiegato nei database RocksDB e LevelDB. Questo permette di ridurre i costi di portabilit\u00e0 del codice, inizialmente ottimizzato per lavorare con file.<\/p>\n<p>In Linux esiste gi\u00e0 una funzione per interagire con i dispositivi a blocchi. Nel kernel versione 4.13 <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zonedstorage.io\/introduction\/linux-support\/\">\u00e8 stato lanciato<\/a><\/noindex> il modulo dm-zoned. Sono stati <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=news_item&amp;px=F2FS-Compression-5.6-Landing\">sono stati aggiunti<\/a><\/noindex> meccanismi di compressione <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lempel%E2%80%93Ziv%E2%80%93Oberhumer\">LZO<\/a><\/noindex>\/<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/LZ4_(compression_algorithm)\">LZ4<\/a><\/noindex> per F2FS \u2014 il loro supporto rimarr\u00e0 per ora sperimentale. Dovr\u00e0 essere attivato manualmente durante il montaggio della partizione (opzione <i>compress_algorithm<\/i>). Inoltre, l'aggiornamento <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=news_item&amp;px=EXT4-XFS-IO-uring-Linux-5.6\">ricever\u00e0<\/a><\/noindex> EXT4 \u2014 \u00e8 legato alle operazioni di input\/output diretto. Il pacchetto di aggiornamenti \u00e8 stato presentato dall'ingegnere IBM Ritesh Harjan. Secondo <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=news_item&amp;px=EXT4-DIO-Faster-DBs\">le sue parole<\/a><\/noindex>, in alcuni casi la patch pu\u00f2 migliorare le prestazioni del file system fino al 140%.<\/p>\n<h2>Aggiornamenti dei driver<\/h2>\n<p>\nNel kernel arriver\u00e0 un nuovo driver <i>cpuidle_cooling<\/i>. Il suo <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.kernel.org\/pub\/scm\/linux\/kernel\/git\/torvalds\/linux.git\/diff\/Documentation\/driver-api\/thermal\/cpu-idle-cooling.rst?id=0a1990a2d1f2217db20b30f915f48d9b8b976949\">un task<\/a><\/noindex> \u2014 per raffreddare la CPU\/SoC, integrando cicli inattivi durante il funzionamento. In un certo senso, \u00e8 simile al driver PowerClamp per i processori Intel, ma non \u00e8 legato a un'architettura specifica. Il sistema <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=news_item&amp;px=Linux-5.6-Generic-CPU-Cool-Idle\">hanno rilasciato<\/a><\/noindex> \u00e8 sviluppato da esperti di Linaro, che si occupano di ottimizzazione del software open source per piattaforme ARM.<\/p>\n<p>Inoltre <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=news_item&amp;px=Nouveau-Turing-Linux-5.6\">sar\u00e0 aggiunto<\/a><\/noindex> supporto per le schede grafiche della serie GeForce 20 (TU10x). Il driver corrispondente \u00e8 stato sviluppato da Ben Skeggs del progetto Nouveau. Purtroppo, le GeForce 16 (TU11x) rimarranno al momento \"fuori gioco\". Nvidia non ha fornito le immagini del firmware necessarie per l'inizializzazione della scheda. Inoltre, le nuove schede grafiche su Linux potrebbero avere problemi di prestazioni a causa della mancanza di riclocking \u2014 gestione automatica della frequenza. Le modifiche corrispondenti <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=news_item&amp;px=USB4-In-Linux-5.6\">hanno proposto<\/a><\/noindex> sono state apportate dagli ingegneri di Intel. Hanno modificato la base di codice esistente, relativa a Thunderbolt \u2014 si tratta di circa duemila righe.<\/p>\n<p>Naturalmente, questi non sono tutti gli aggiornamenti che arriveranno nel kernel, ad esempio, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=article&amp;item=linux-56-features&amp;num=2\">si pu\u00f2 aspettare<\/a><\/noindex> il supporto per periferiche e dispositivi di rete aggiuntivi.
