Nella nuova versione della licenza di XBPS \u00e8 stata aggiunta una clausola che vieta l'uso del nome XBPS e dei nomi degli sviluppatori nella promozione di prodotti derivati, senza ottenere una specifica autorizzazione scritta. Pertanto, gli sviluppatori di Void Linux non potranno trasferire future modifiche dal nuovo repository di XBPS senza rinominare il gestore di pacchetti o senza ottenere il consenso esplicito di Juan.
