Il problema \u00e8 causato da una gestione errata dei valori negativi del parametro che definisce la dimensione dell'area da copiare, a causa dell'uso di ottimizzazioni in assembly che manipolano interi firmati a 32 bit. La chiamata a memcpy() su sistemi ARMv7 con una dimensione negativa provoca confronti errati dei valori e scritture fuori dai limiti del buffer specificato.<\/p>\n<p>La vulnerabilit\u00e0 pu\u00f2 essere sfruttata per eseguire codice in situazioni in cui un attaccante pu\u00f2 generare un valore negativo nella variabile che trasmette la dimensione dei dati da copiare (ad esempio, un valore negativo si avr\u00e0 quando si trasferiscono pi\u00f9 di 2 GB di dati, ma durante un attacco per oltrepassare i limiti del buffer \u00e8 necessario trasmettere almeno 4 GB). La correzione \u00e8 attualmente disponibile in forma di <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/patchwork.sourceware.org\/project\/glibc\/patch\/ac494a6febda4430857df1fc31f64e19@huawei.com\/\">patch<\/a><\/noindex>, che sar\u00e0 inclusa nell'aggiornamento di agosto di Glibc 2.32.<br \/>\nLa correzione consiste nella sostituzione dell'uso di istruzioni in assembly che operano su operandi firmati (bge e blt) con i loro equivalenti senza segno (blo e bhs). <\/p>\n<p>Il problema non \u00e8 ancora risolto in <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/security-tracker.debian.org\/tracker\/CVE-2020-6096\">Debian 9 e 10<\/a><\/noindex> (in Debian 8 non si manifesta), <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.redhat.com\/show_bug.cgi?id=1820332\">Fedora<\/a><\/noindex>, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/people.canonical.com\/~ubuntu-security\/cve\/2020\/CVE-2020-6096.html\">Ubuntu<\/a><\/noindex>, OpenEmbedded, Tizen (utilizza glibc).  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.redhat.com\/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2020-6096\">RHEL<\/a><\/noindex> e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bugzilla.suse.com\/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2020-6096\">SUSE<\/a><\/noindex> il problema non riguarda, poich\u00e9 non supportano i sistemi ARMv7 a 32 bit. Android non \u00e8 vulnerabile, poich\u00e9 utilizza una propria implementazione della libc (Bionic). In <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/openwrt.org\/advisory\/start\">OpenWRT<\/a><\/noindex> default nella maggior parte delle versioni viene utilizzato Musl, ma nel repository \u00e8
