Sylvestre Ledru ha pubblicato<\/a><\/noindex> risultato della ricompilazione dell'archivio dei pacchetti Debian GNU\/Linux utilizzando il compilatore Clang 10 invece di GCC. Su 31014 pacchetti, non \u00e8 stato possibile compilare 1400 (4.5%), ma applicando una patch aggiuntiva agli strumenti Debian, il numero di pacchetti non compilati \u00e8 stato ridotto a 1110 (3.6%). A titolo di confronto, durante la compilazione con Clang 8 e 9, il numero di pacchetti che non sono stati compilati \u00e8 rimasto stabile attorno al 4.9%.<\/p>\n

Durante l'esperimento di compilazione, l'attenzione \u00e8 stata focalizzata su 250 problemi causati da guasti dovuti a un errore<\/a><\/noindex> Qmake, e 177 problemi relativi<\/a><\/noindex> alla generazione di diversi simboli nelle librerie. Aggiungendo una semplice patch a dpkg-gensymbols, che trattava gli errori di confronto dei simboli durante il linking come avvisi, e sostituendo nei file di configurazione di qmake g++, \u00e8 stato possibile eliminare i guasti nella compilazione di circa 290 pacchetti.<\/p>\n

Dei restanti di problemi<\/a><\/noindex>, che portano a errori in fase di compilazione in Clang, si riscontrano pi\u00f9 frequentemente errori dovuti alla mancanza di alcuni file di intestazione, conversioni di tipo, assenza di spazio tra il letterale e l'identificatore, problemi di collegamento, mancanza di un valore di ritorno da una funzione non-void, utilizzo di un confronto ordinato di un puntatore con zero, mancanza di definizioni. <\/p>\n
