Invece di «master», si propone di scegliere una sostituzione neutra, come «dev», «trunk», «main» o «default». Si sottolinea che prima del passaggio da SVN a Git, il ramo principale era chiamato «trunk» e questo nome rimane familiare per gli sviluppatori. Si propone anche di prendere in considerazione la sostituzione dei termini whitelist\/blacklist con allowlist\/denylist.
