Il sistema \u00e8 progettato per affrontare compiti come l'assistenza al servizio tecnico (help desk), la gestione delle risposte alle richieste dei clienti (telefonate, email), il coordinamento della fornitura di servizi IT aziendali, la gestione delle richieste nel servizio vendite e nei servizi finanziari. Il codice di OTOBO \u00e8 scritto in Perl e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/RotherOSS\/otobo\">\u00e8 distribuito<\/a><\/noindex> sotto licenza GPLv3.<\/p>\n<p>Stefan Rother, oggi fondatore e amministratore delegato di Rother OSS, \u00e8 entrato a far parte di OTRS GmbH (oggi OTRS AG) nel 2004. Nel 2011 ha fondato la propria azienda Rother OSS. Entro il 2019, Rother OSS si \u00e8 concentrata sulla fornitura di servizi aziendali legati alle varianti open source di OTRS. In risposta alla strategia di rilascio cambiata di OTRS AG e ai ritardi nel rilascio delle nuove versioni di OTRS Community Edition, Rother OSS ha avviato lo sviluppo del sistema di ticket OTOBO (Open Ticket Ours Based OTRS) basato su OTRS versione 6. Il concetto di business di OTOBO \u00e8 supportare gli utenti aziendali, fornendo consulenza e formazione.
