Pubblicato<\/a><\/noindex> rilascio del gestore delle finestre xfwm4 4.14.3<\/a><\/noindex>, utilizzato in un ambiente utente Xfce per garantire la visualizzazione delle finestre sullo schermo, decorare le finestre e organizzare il loro spostamento, chiusura e modifica delle dimensioni. <\/p>\n

Nel nuovo rilascio \u00e8 stata aggiunta<\/a><\/noindex> supporto all'estensione X11 XRes<\/a><\/noindex> (X-Resource), che \u00e8 attivato<\/a><\/noindex> per richiedere al server X informazioni sul PID dell'applicazione lanciata utilizzando meccanismi di isolamento sandbox. Il supporto a XRes affronta il problema della chiusura forzata di processi client bloccati, i cui PID non possono essere identificati tramite la propriet\u00e0 _NET_WM_PID, poich\u00e9 questo riflette l'identificatore di processo all'interno di un ambiente isolato, che potrebbe differire dall'identificatore nello spazio dei nomi globale. <\/p>\n

Nella nuova versione \u00e8 stata anche \u00e8 stato risolto<\/a><\/noindex> individuata una vulnerabilit\u00e0 che potrebbe portare a riferimenti a un'area di memoria gi\u00e0 liberata (use-after-free) e a scritture di dati al di fuori di un buffer allocato durante l'elaborazione di stringhe con impostazioni. Inoltre, in xfwm4 4.14.3 aggiunti<\/a><\/noindex> sono stati aggiunti ulteriori gestori di errori XError, che semplificano la diagnosi dei problemi legati alle richieste XConfigureWindow.<\/p>\n

Alcuni utenti, dopo l'aggiornamento alla versione 4.14.3 hanno riscontrato<\/a><\/noindex> crash durante l'avvio su FreeBSD, apparentemente causati da una nuova associazione a libXres. Inoltre, in xfwm4 \u00e8 emersa<\/a><\/noindex> si \u00e8 verificato un problema con il riconoscimento delle schede video AMD quando l'estensione X11 XPresent \u00e8 attivata per sincronizzare l'output con l'impulso di interruzione del fotogramma (vblank). XPresent veniva attivato se nel nome della scheda era presente una maschera AMD, mentre alcune schede sono designate<\/a><\/noindex> \u00abRadeon\u00bb senza menzionare la parola \u00abAMD\u00bb (ad esempio, \u00abRadeon RX 570\u00bb). Per queste schede veniva abilitato il gestore vblank basato su \u00abglx\u00bb, che \u00e8 significativamente inferiore in termini di prestazioni.<\/p>\n

Ad esempio, utilizzando glx, la riproduzione di video 4K in mpv carica il GPU al 70% in modalit\u00e0 alta qualit\u00e0 e al 50% in modalit\u00e0 bassa qualit\u00e0, mentre l'uso di XPresent riduce il carico al 50% e al 30% rispettivamente, il che influenza notevolmente il consumo energetico e le prestazioni. Il problema rimane irrisolto. Per forzare l'attivazione di XPresent \u00e8 possibile aggiungere la configurazione \/general\/vblank_mode in xfconf:<\/p>\n
