La scheda si collega alle porte HDMI\/VGA e USB del server per gestirlo da remoto, indipendentemente dal sistema operativo. \u00c8 possibile accendere, spegnere o riavviare il server, configurare il BIOS e persino reinstallare completamente il sistema operativo da un'immagine di avvio: Pi-KVM \u00e8 in grado di emulare un CD-ROM virtuale e un'unit\u00e0 flash.<\/p>\n<p>Il numero di componenti necessari, oltre al Raspberry Pi stesso, \u00e8 ridotto al minimo, permettendo di assemblarlo in letteralmente mezz'ora, e il costo totale sar\u00e0 di circa $100 anche nella configurazione pi\u00f9 costosa (mentre molti IP-KVM proprietari, con funzionalit\u00e0 inferiori, costano da $500 in su).
