Attraverso il monitoraggio, i dati dai log, i test manuali o altri canali di feedback, il rilascio viene testato prima di essere applicato a tutti gli utenti.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"kubernetes-deployment-rolling-update\">Kubernetes Deployment (rolling update)<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>La strategia predefinita per il Kubernetes Deployment \u00e8 il rolling-update, dove viene eseguito un certo numero di pod con nuove versioni delle immagini. Se vengono creati senza problemi, i pod con le versioni precedenti delle immagini vengono terminati e nuovi pod vengono creati in parallelo.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"gitops\">GitOps<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Utilizziamo GitOps in questo esempio, poich\u00e9 noi:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>utilizziamo Git come unica fonte di verit\u00e0<\/li>\n<li>utilizziamo Git Operations per la build e il deploy (nessun comando necessario tranne git tag\/merge)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"primer\">Esempio<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Prendiamo una buona pratica: avere un repository per il codice delle applicazioni e uno per l'infrastruttura.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"repozitoriy-dlya-prilozheniy\">Repository per le applicazioni<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Questa \u00e8 una semplice API su Python+Flask, che restituisce una risposta in formato JSON. Creeremo un pacchetto tramite GitlabCI e caricheremo il risultato nel Gitlab Registry. Nel registry abbiamo due diverse versioni di release:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><code>wuestkamp\/k8s-deployment-example-app:v1<\/code><\/li>\n<li><code>wuestkamp\/k8s-deployment-example-app:v2<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>L'unica differenza tra di esse \u00e8 la modifica del file JSON restituito. Utilizziamo questa applicazione per una visualizzazione massima e semplice di quale versione stiamo interagendo.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"infrastrukturnyy-repozitoriy\">Repository infrastrutturale<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In questo repository faremo il deploy tramite GitlabCI in Kubernetes, <code>.gitlab-ci.yml<\/code> si presenta nel seguente modo:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"plaintext\">image: traherom\/kustomize-docker\n\nbefore_script:\n   - printenv\n   - kubectl version\n\nstages:\n - deploy\n\ndeploy test:\n   stage: deploy\n   before_script:\n     - echo $KUBECONFIG\n   script:\n     - kubectl get all\n     - kubectl apply -f i\/k8s\n\n   only:\n     - master\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Per eseguirlo da solo avrai bisogno di un cluster, puoi utilizzare Gcloud:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"plaintext\">gcloud container clusters create canary --num-nodes 3 --zone europe-west3-b\n\ngcloud compute firewall-rules create incoming-80 --allow tcp:80<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 necessario fare un fork <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/wuestkamp\/k8s-deployment-example-canary-infrastructure\">https:\/\/gitlab.com\/wuestkamp\/k8s-deployment-example-canary-infrastructure<\/a><\/noindex> e creare una variabile <code>KUBECONFIG<\/code> in GitlabCI che conterr\u00e0 la configurazione per l'accesso <code>kubectl<\/code> al tuo cluster.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Informazioni su come ottenere le credenziali per il cluster (Gcloud) possono essere lette <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/faun\/manually-connect-to-your-kubernetes-cluster-from-the-outside-d852346a7f0a\">qui<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"infrastrukturnyy-yaml\">Yaml infrastrutturale<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Nel repository infrastrutturale abbiamo service:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"plaintext\">apiVersion: v1\nkind: Service\nmetadata:\n labels:\n   id: app\n name: app\nspec:\n ports:\n - port: 80\n   protocol: TCP\n   targetPort: 5000\n selector:\n   id: app\n type: LoadBalancer<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>E deployment in <code>deploy.yaml<\/code>:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"plaintext\">apiVersion: apps\/v1\nkind: Deployment\nmetadata:\n name: app\nspec:\n replicas: 10\n selector:\n   matchLabels:\n     id: app\n     type: main\n template:\n   metadata:\n     labels:\n       id: app\n       type: main\n   spec:\n     containers:\n     - image: registry.gitlab.com\/wuestkamp\/k8s-deployment-example-app:v1\n       name: app\n       resources:\n         limits:\n           cpu: 100m\n           memory: 100Mi<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>E un altro deployment in <code>deploy-canary.yaml<\/code>:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"plaintext\">kind: Deployment\nmetadata:\n name: app-canary\nspec:\n replicas: 0\n selector:\n   matchLabels:\n     id: app\n     type: canary\n template:\n   metadata:\n     labels:\n       id: app\n       type: canary\n   spec:\n     containers:\n     - image: registry.gitlab.com\/wuestkamp\/k8s-deployment-example-app:v2\n       name: app\n       resources:\n         limits:\n           cpu: 100m\n           memory: 100Mi<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Nota che app-deploy attualmente non ha repliche definite.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"vypolnenie-nachalnogo-deploya\">Esecuzione del deployment iniziale<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Per avviare il deployment iniziale, puoi avviare manualmente il pipeline GitlabCI nel ramo master. C'\u00e8 anche un LoadBalancer da cui possiamo accedere tramite <code>curl<\/code> l'IP esterno:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><code>while true; do curl -s 35.198.149.232 | grep label; sleep 0.1; done<\/code><\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Canary Deployment in Kubernetes #1: Gitlab CI\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/06e6928002532dbe03b65356964110c7.jpeg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Vediamo che la nostra applicazione di test restituisce solo \u201cv1\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"vypolnenie-canary-deploya\">Esecuzione del deploy Canary<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"shag-1-vypustit-novuyu-versiyu-dlya-chasti-polzovateley\">Passo 1: rilasciare una nuova versione per una parte degli utenti<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Abbiamo impostato il numero di repliche a 1 nel file deploy-canary.yaml e l'immagine della nuova versione:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"plaintext\">kind: Deployment\nmetadata:\n name: app-canary\nspec:\n replicas: 1\n selector:\n   matchLabels:\n     id: app\n     type: canary\n template:\n   metadata:\n     labels:\n       id: app\n       type: canary\n   spec:\n     containers:\n     - image: registry.gitlab.com\/wuestkamp\/k8s-deployment-example-app:v2\n       name: app\n       resources:\n         limits:\n           cpu: 100m\n           memory: 100Mi<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Nel file <code>deploy.yaml<\/code> abbiamo cambiato il numero di repliche a 9:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<pre><code class=\"plaintext\">kind: Deployment\nmetadata:\n name: app\nspec:\n replicas: 9\n selector:\n   matchLabels:\n     id: app\n...<\/code><\/pre>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Stiamo inviando queste modifiche nel repository da cui verr\u00e0 eseguito il deploy (tramite GitlabCI) e alla fine vediamo:<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Canary Deployment in Kubernetes #1: Gitlab CI\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/b639716b31e41e8eac573fd365ad6780.jpeg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Il nostro Service punter\u00e0 a entrambi i deploy, poich\u00e9 entrambi hanno il selettore app. A causa della distribuzione casuale per impostazione predefinita in Kubernetes, dovremmo vedere risposte diverse su circa il 10% delle richieste:<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Canary Deployment in Kubernetes #1: Gitlab CI\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/d1177207ebd8952fd1994ed0ebdda6a3.jpeg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Lo stato attuale della nostra applicazione (GitOps, preso da Git come Single Source Of Truth) consiste nella presenza di due deployments con repliche attive, una per ogni versione.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>~10% degli utenti si familiarize con la nuova versione e la testano involontariamente. \u00c8 ora di controllare la presenza di errori nei log e nei dati di monitoraggio per identificare eventuali problemi.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4 id=\"shag-2-vypustit-novuyu-versiyu-dlya-vseh-polzovateley\">Passo 2: rilasciare la nuova versione per tutti gli utenti<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Abbiamo deciso che tutto \u00e8 andato bene e ora dobbiamo distribuire la nuova versione a tutti gli utenti. Per farlo, aggiorniamo semplicemente <code>deploy.yaml<\/code> installando la nuova versione dell'immagine e impostando il numero di repliche a 10. In <code>deploy-canary.yaml<\/code> impostiamo il numero di repliche a 0. Dopo il deployment, il risultato sar\u00e0 il seguente:<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Canary Deployment in Kubernetes #1: Gitlab CI\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/a31aafe96a09c6d2651b2bf7add4dd29.jpeg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"podvodya-itog\">In sintesi<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Per me, avviare il deployment manualmente in questo modo aiuta a capire quanto possa essere semplice configurarlo con k8s. Poich\u00e9 Kubernetes consente di aggiornare tutto tramite API, questi passaggi possono essere automatizzati tramite script.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Un'altra cosa da implementare \u00e8 il punto di ingresso per il tester (LoadBalancer o tramite Ingress), attraverso il quale \u00e8 possibile accedere solo alla nuova versione.
