Peter Robinson (Peter Robinson<\/a><\/noindex>) del team Red Hat Release Engineering Team ha pubblicato<\/a><\/noindex> proposta<\/a><\/noindex> ha discusso l'inclusione della variante del sistema operativo per l'Internet delle cose tra le edizioni ufficiali di Fedora 33. Pertanto, a partire da Fedora 33 Fedora IoT<\/a><\/noindex> sar\u00e0 fornito insieme a Fedora Workstation e Fedora Server. La proposta ufficiale non \u00e8 ancora stata approvata, ma la sua pubblicazione \u00e8 stata preliminarmente concordata dal comitato FESCo (Fedora Engineering Steering Committee), responsabile della parte tecnica dello sviluppo del sistema operativo Fedora, quindi la sua approvazione pu\u00f2 essere considerata una formalit\u00e0.<\/p>\n

Ricordiamo che l'edizione Fedora IoT \u00e8 progettata per l'uso su dispositivi dell'Internet delle cose (IoT) e si basa sulle stesse tecnologie utilizzate in Fedora CoreOS<\/a><\/noindex>, Fedora Atomic Host<\/a><\/noindex> e Fedora Silverblue<\/a><\/noindex>. Il sistema operativo offre un ambiente ridotto al minimo, il cui aggiornamento avviene in modo atomico tramite la sostituzione dell'immagine dell'intero sistema, senza suddivisione in singoli pacchetti. Per garantire l'integrit\u00e0, viene utilizzata la firma digitale per l'intera immagine di sistema. Per separare le applicazioni dal sistema principale si propone<\/a><\/noindex> si utilizzano contenitori isolati (la gestione \u00e8 affidata a podman). \u00c8 possibile anche
\nassemblare<\/a><\/noindex> un ambiente di sistema specifico per applicazioni e dispositivi particolari.<\/p>\n

Per la creazione dell'ambiente di sistema viene utilizzata la tecnologia OSTree<\/a><\/noindex>, che aggiorna in modo atomico l'immagine di sistema da un repository simile a Git, consentendo l'uso di tecniche di controllo delle versioni sui componenti della distribuzione (ad esempio, \u00e8 possibile ripristinare rapidamente il sistema a uno stato precedente). I pacchetti RPM vengono trasmessi al repository OSTree tramite uno strato speciale rpm-ostree<\/a><\/noindex>. Le build pronte sono forniti<\/a><\/noindex> per le architetture x86_64 e Aarch64 (a breve \u00e8 prevista anche l'aggiunta del supporto per ARMv7). \u00c8 dichiarato<\/a><\/noindex> il supporto per le schede Raspberry Pi 3 Model B\/B+,
