(Pietro Robinson (Pietro Robinson<\/a><\/noindex>) del team Red Hat Release Engineering Team ha pubblicato<\/a><\/noindex> proposta<\/a><\/noindex> di accettare la variante della distribuzione per l'internet delle cose tra le edizioni ufficiali di Fedora 33. Pertanto, a partire da Fedora 33 Fedora IoT<\/a><\/noindex> sar\u00e0 fornita insieme a Fedora Workstation e Fedora Server. La proposta non \u00e8 ancora stata ufficialmente approvata, ma la sua pubblicazione \u00e8 stata preliminarmente concordata nel comitato FESCo (Fedora Engineering Steering Committee), responsabile della parte tecnica dello sviluppo della distribuzione Fedora, quindi la sua accettazione pu\u00f2 essere considerata una formalit\u00e0.<\/p>\n

Ricordiamo che l'edizione Fedora IoT \u00e8 progettata per l'uso su dispositivi per internet delle cose (IoT) e si basa sulle stesse tecnologie utilizzate in Fedora CoreOS<\/a><\/noindex>, Fedora Atomic Host<\/a><\/noindex> e Fedora Silverblue<\/a><\/noindex>. La distribuzione offre un ambiente di sistema ridotto al minimo, il cui aggiornamento avviene in modo atomico sostituendo l'immagine dell'intero sistema, senza suddividerla in pacchetti separati. Per il controllo dell'integrit\u00e0 viene utilizzata la firma digitale per certificare l'intera immagine di sistema. Per separare le applicazioni dal sistema principale si propone<\/a><\/noindex> si utilizzano contenitori isolati (per la gestione si usa podman). \u00c8 anche possibile
\npersonalizzare<\/a><\/noindex> l'ambiente di sistema per applicazioni specifiche e dispositivi determinati.<\/p>\n

Per formare l'ambiente di sistema viene utilizzata la tecnologia OSTree<\/a><\/noindex>, secondo cui l'immagine di sistema viene aggiornata in modo atomico da un repository simile a Git, che consente di applicare metodi di controllo delle versioni ai componenti della distribuzione (ad esempio, \u00e8 possibile ripristinare rapidamente il sistema a uno stato precedente). I pacchetti RPM vengono tradotti nel repository OSTree tramite uno strato speciale rpm-ostree<\/a><\/noindex>. Le build pronte fornisce<\/a><\/noindex> per le architetture x86_64 e Aarch64 (presto dovrebbe essere aggiunto anche il supporto per ARMv7). \u00c8 stata dichiarata<\/a><\/noindex> supporto per schede Raspberry Pi 3 Model B\/B+,
