Il progetto \u00e8 sviluppato dal registro dei nomi ceco CZ.NIC, scritto in linguaggio C e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/CZ-NIC\/knot\">\u00e8 distribuito<\/a><\/noindex> sotto licenza GPLv3. <\/p>\n<p>KnotDNS si distingue per l'orientamento verso l'elevata prestazione nella gestione delle richieste, utilizzando un'implementazione multithreading, principalmente non bloccante e altamente scalabile su sistemi SMP. Sono disponibili funzionalit\u00e0 come l'aggiunta e la rimozione di zone al volo, il trasferimento di zone tra server, DDNS (aggiornamenti dinamici), NSID (RFC 5001), estensioni EDNS0 e DNSSEC (incluso NSEC3), e limitazioni dell'intensit\u00e0 delle risposte (RRL). <\/p>\n<p>Nel nuovo rilascio:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata aggiunta una modalit\u00e0 di rete ad alte prestazioni, implementata utilizzando il sottosistema <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iovisor.org\/technology\/xdp\">XDP<\/a><\/noindex> (eXpress Data Path), che fornisce strumenti per il trattamento dei pacchetti a livello del driver di rete prima dell'elaborazione da parte dello stack di rete del kernel Linux. Abilitando questa funzione, invece di definire record separati per ogni zona secondaria sul server secondario, viene organizzato un trasferimento del catalogo delle zone tra il server primario e quello secondario; di conseguenza, le zone create sul server primario e contrassegnate come appartenenti al catalogo verranno automaticamente create sul server secondario senza necessit\u00e0 di modificare i file di configurazione.
